  1. Guy played with Alex’s ear as he searched for flights. “You’re the cutest travel agent I ever saw. Also the most naked travel agent I ever saw.” “Stop it a minute. I nearly booked us to Bucharest. We’ve got time for a shower, to pack some stuff and the ride to JFK before the flight. Now march, Mister.” *** They waited in a long line at the ticket counters at the airport. Finally at the counter, Alex presented the ticket vouchers to the airline representative. Alex expected some issue a
  2. On Wednesday, Alex was in a meeting with senior members of the financial institution where he worked. He had provided important research to a report the chief economist was presenting. His role was to sit quietly unless some exacting point of the analysis required further clarification. The chief economist, while a brilliant man, fell short in the area of public speaking. Alex found his mind wandering during the lengthy presentation. He admired the richly paneled walls of the conference roo
  3. Alex called the college to schedule an appointment with Dr. Waldheim, the Provost. The receptionist informed him that Dr. Waldheim had retired two years previously. She asked if he would like to speak with the new Provost. He declined. The receptionist said that they might run into Dr. Waldheim during the Alumni weekend when he was being honored for his contribution to the college with the dedication of building to bear his name. The Alumni weekend was to occur in two weeks. Alex thanked h
  4. An email arrived from Thibaud a few weeks after they had returned from France. He was as saucy as ever in his recollection of the time he had spent with Alex and Guy. The real point of the email was that Thibaud had been gossiping with one of his college flames about the sad events of that early December. Thibaud’s friend related a possibly important story. When on a vacation in St. Thomas, another college friend told the friend that he had been looking to charter a boat for a day’s sail.

    Chapter 1

Of course, the story is more complicated. I still tear up at Mr. Marcus's passing and memorial. Chailapin - an historic voice, surely everyone knows the great bass, at least all of us good guys.
  6. A life I wish for us all...
  7. Thibaud had responded to Alex’s email in minutes. Of course he remembered Guy. They had spent summers together throughout their childhood and teen years. He remembered Alex, too, as that elusive Economics major with the shy smile and cute ass. He insisted that they stay with him and his lover, Henri, when in the area. They would be welcome for as long as they liked. Guy would remember place, the big house above the village. Guy did indeed remember the place, it was a chateau that sat high
  8. Very nice. I like the growing intimacy - even if unrecognized.
  9. More twists and turns ahead in "Tangled Web - A Mystery". (should be followed by a demonic laugh).
  10. The mystery continues. The next chapter is awaiting approval.
  11. Alex reclined in the bed gently touching the man who lay against his chest. As he traced the shape of the other’s ear, he thought about how happy he was, how fortunate that life had brought this man to him. He savored the sensations of their lovemaking, the heat and excitement still with him. “That tickles,” the man in his arms teasingly complained. “What we just got done doing tickled, too.” “I never heard of anyone with a ticklish ass.” “I’ve never been touched that deep before.” “You

    Chapter 1

Chapter 2 is in the queue - should be available later today. I think there's a lot of reading fun ahead.
  13. Who was this merry soul in Mr. Marcus’s office? The rest of the business staff conjectured as to what could have happened to make such a change in the poor gray man. Even those who had known him since his own undergraduate years could not recall even a day of such spirit. Still, it was Mr. Marcus, even if this one smiled and laughed, seemingly at his own unspoken jokes. The normal minor infractions of punctuality that had been the old Mr. Marcus’s pet peeve went unnoticed. In the words of G
  14. A glance at his closet was all you need to know Mr. Marcus. There, hanging in fussy uniformity were his jackets, trousers, shirts, and even ties, in various yet not too varied shades of gray. Flannel, tweed, corduroy - softened with age, defying passing trends. And yet, almost hidden in the back was a dress shirt, white with light blue checks, the shirt he wore when he felt especially daring. Today was such a day. The early fall light fell magically through the leaves of the tall trees surr

  16. Can you tell I love each one? The unhappy news is there is only one more chapter - for now.
  17. Reporter: We all sat in silence, recovering from the heart wrenching story. I am struck by how forthrightly they shared this most intimate and painful event. I think it is a critical component of how these five gay men operate as a family, as partners, as lovers. They look at each other, touch each other with genuine affection. The pain they have felt on each other’s behalf is still part of their lives, but more so is the love and caring, that is the foundation of their relationship. “You

    Chapter 10 - Hurting

Reporter: I was unsatisfied with the tale. This group of men were truly loving, but I was not about to believe they were always devotedly concerned for each other and resolved every issue with such grace. “So that was it? You find your true love, he goes back to his family. You come back to yours. And that’s it?” They looked around the room at each other, then refused to meet each other’s gaze. There was more. The streak of anguish that passed over them was palpable. This group that
  22. Reporter: So you’ve told me about difficulties with family and the kind of tough choices that life presents. That’s pretty run of the mill. You’re a group of gay men, most people expect promiscuity and cheating. You can’t tell me no one’s eye – or dick – has roamed. Tim: Well, there was that business trip you took to Singapore, John. Reporter: All eyes turned toward John who hung his head. John: Yeah, there was that trip. I’ll blame it on the circumstances and a dream I used to have

    Chapter 1

I guess I'm optimistic that there is another relationship waiting right in front of us if we're able to open up to it. In some ways I needed to respond to the misguided hate toward being gay based on ideas no more valid than the ones I suggest in this piece. Thank you for reading.

    Chapter 4 - Mark

More fun (and tears) to come in Chapter 6.
  25. Tim: Sean had changed his academic work to focus on the hospitality industry. His love of cooking and part time jobs in catering had brought him to the conclusion that he could do a better job than any of the companies he had worked for. As beneficiaries of his cooking skills, we were sure he was right. The university he and I attended had a limited curriculum in this area. Sean applied to several schools in the area that offered more extensive classes. One by one, Sean received rejection
