  1. You said it so well. Your words convey so well the agony that comes from contemplating current wreckages of previous ideals ... I would always like to remind myself that 'while there's life there's hope' ... But then the ancient and disturbing thought intrudes, that 'those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad' ... ('quem deus vult perdere prius dementat' and other versions). Blessings on you in the meantime T
  2. Well there's a whole lot of us around, so it's really good that Gary writes so well about us and sees right through us, we're under-represented in so many media including this ... ...
  3. "Is it too heavy?" Well thanks for 'Endings', and so far it definitely isn't too heavy for me. I guess it could go in any of several ways from here on. In my feeling, it's a story on a perennial theme, and one that's well worthy to be told in many different ways. As I see it, it's about what we men can do when we're in the grip of our stubborn illusions and delusions; abut the problems we make as a result, and the barriers against others that we set up or even just allow, but in the wrong places; and then about our struggles (sometimes) to get away from the stubbornness or its results in different ways, and (unfortunately) the depths we can sometimes plumb during the process; and then again about how the struggles work out, and whether they involve facing and accepting anything of the truth and our nearest partners in life at last. As for how this one develops, I guess it might not get a HEA, but anyhow I'll hope that the MC's, especially Chase, get into good enough shape to go on to fight another day ... maybe with a few moments in one or another paradise garden along the way 😀? I hope you write many more of your stories on your favourite themes!
