  1. Thank you for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you ever think you might've figured something out, feel free to let me know.
  2. It would not have been a very dramatic moment. Drogan picked something he thought sounded good, and Canaan went along with it. Thanks for the review. This one was fun to write.
  3. I had a lot of fun writing this part, if you couldn't tell.
  4. “Is that actual fucking metal?” It was, he could see it already, sunlight glinting off the blade's edge, a blatant tempt. “It is indeed. I even sharpened it for you,” fingers ran along its side, pushing deep against Drogan's death pale skin without breaking; he held the weapon forward, “Go on. Take it.” Canaan did so, tentatively wrapping his hand around the hilt, still expecting it to be snatched away. He had never, in recent or distant memory, been allowed a weapon that wasn't a wooden imita
  5. Thank you!
  6. III There was a knock on his door. He raised his eyes from the book in his lap, symbols and sounds and definite meanings, his cheek pressed against the cooler window pane. At first he wasn't certain what that sound was, then thought it must be an accident. Until it happened again. He sat up straight, feeling the first stirrings of alarm. Learned instinct still said to get up, answer it, its polite and expected. But who would it be? Only London came to see him, London didn't knock because he l
  7. Kind of, in a very limited way. Not like Canaan or Trick do, it comes out more often as feelings or ideas, being drawn to or repulsed by something, nothing that ever strikes his conscious mind as being particularly meaningful. Or in this case, where one trauma mirrored another closely enough to cause wires to be permanently crossed. Thanks for the review.
  8. An interesting question. If you ever have an idea, shoot me a message. I like hearing people's theories.
  9. I This time, when the aether phone light turned red, he was sitting at the table in front of it, waiting. "Hey, Shadow." His finger pressed the talk button with little hesitation now; this part of the conversation he had down, "Hello." A laugh, "Well, just to get it out of the way, situation normal. Like usual." He didn't write it down, he would remember it. That had been something he'd wondered about, an idle curiosity; he told himself he was going to ask, this time he would do it. Now was
  10. Drogan's been an interesting character to write. Thanks for the review.
  11. The boy was short and chubby, a mess of barely coordinated limbs racing across the room to where his human caretakers had set out the mid meal. Kneeling down on the floor, the tips of bare toes just peeking out at the ends of his too long pants, he scooped up fistfuls of food in his fat little hands, tucking it away in his wide open mouth, ignoring the woman who hit him in the arm with a spoon she then tried to hand to him. Drogan watched unseen from a safe distance. Well, it was an improvement
  12. Thank you. (and now things get weird)
  13. Thank you.
  14. How was it put to me once? I scatter little clues all over the place, like a treasure hunt, and sit back to see what gets spotted. When I began this, I made a list in my head of revelations to come, what I thought I could keep quiet until I was at least almost ready to reveal, what I thought a particularly observant person would pick up on, and what I thought were throw aways I never pretended I could conceal. But I like hearing it in reviews, I like testing my theories, and seeing just what people notice and when (or, and this can be gotten from comments as well, what they did *not* notice). I've been very surprised, a few times. I'll be interested to see what you think of the next part.
