My Other Home I don't know if it's like this everywhere, but at our college we have Winter Break, which encompasses the week of Xmas, then New Years, and the entire week after. So on Friday, December 19, we vacated our dorm room and went to Parker's home. No sooner had we stepped in the front door when a familiar voice rang out, “I hope you boys are hungry because I’ve ordered a lot of Chinese food for dinner.” As we ascended the stairs, Ginny appeared from out of the kitchen. All you need is love, love. Love is all you need. Parker makes a very adorable Cupid. Matt always felt very lucky to have found Parker. But when one has a very attractive partner, it comes with its challengers too. The restaurant scene in the last chapter shows that Matt was no slouch in the looks department either. Closely matched? Well, when one person is a 10 and the other is let's say an 8.5, certain other valuable attributes can make up that extra point and a half. But perhaps Parker thinks he is an 8.5 and Matt is a 10.

What’s Up with Connor? “So what were you going to tell me about Connor?” I asked. “Oh right...almost forgot. Well, I think I did a good thing,” Parker stated. “And what was that?” “That’s where the long story comes in. Do you know Ryan from my swim team?” “Not personally, but I recall the name. Is he the kid with the really nice chest and abs and all that?” I inquired. “Yes, that’s him.” “I remember now,” I said being able to place the person from the sw

You’re Always Famous to Me
Rip Skor commented on Rip Skor's story chapter in You’re Always Famous to Me
Since we get this story from Matt's point of view, Parker is always described as breathless, beautiful, adorable. This is one instance where we see Matt's no slouch either. And what's the one thing that Matt could give to Ginny that will set her mind at ease? Matt's just removing another barrier. -

Les Mis for two boys under the age of 21 is a little too much singing and not enough action. All that singing makes it a bit hard to follow. I think Matt and Parker would be members more of the Billy Elliot fan base than Les Mis or Mary Poppins. Just like some people prefer beer to wine or vice versa. -
You’re Always Famous to Me The play came at a most inopportune time. We had just gotten over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and we were getting back into the swing of campus life. Now we were going back out with family once again. Oh well. As I mentioned before, Ginny had bought six tickets in August to Les Misérables at the Wang Center for herself, her boyfriend Bill, Helen and her husband John, Parker, and me. Bill offered to drive into town and we’d all meet Helen and John at th

When something like that happens, parents usually get very tight-lipped about the incident. The obituary in the local paper will say their "16-year-old son died suddenly" or "unexpectedly." It's mostly because parents are embarrassed that their community will believe they failed as parents or the deceased failed at life. It's very rare that the obituary will state that the person took his/her own life. That may be a disservice in pointing out any trends in a community that can be acted upon.

Thanks! I originally envisioned these as two separate chapters (thus the length), but since they fell next to each other in sequence, I combined them to keep things moving along.

A Sit Down With Sis I got back to the living room just in time to catch the Wizard of Oz giving out his party favors to Dorothy and her intrepid travelers. I remembered hearing that WC Fields was originally offered the role of the Wizard, but he was too busy at the time, so we get Frank Morgan. I’ve always wondered how it would have played with Fields in the part. Little did Fields know that with the advent of television, it would have kept him in the public eye forever. Instead, the

Coming Out For The Holidays?

Thanks! I like when someone notices the double takes. Matt is full of them. -

Apprehension to the max. Matt was sure he was going to vomit on the spot. May have turned out very different even a year earlier. -

Wedding? Whoa now. They are only 18 and 20. What to do? It's coming... -

Momentous yet completely unplanned. Just popped into Matt's head on the drive home. Shocked the heck out of Parker for sure! -
Coming Out For The Holidays? [Here’s just a few quick words about Thanksgiving for our non-American readers. The rest of you can skip these first two paragraphs. Thanksgiving is a holiday in the United States that commemorates when the first continuous Anglo settlement was established in the Americas by religious pilgrims from England. They were looking for a place where they could practice their puritan religious beliefs in peace. After a 66-day voyage across the Atlantic in 1620, t

In many team sports, especially swimming, a lot of hugging goes on between team members. In baseball, you may get a pat on the fanny from a base coach when you get a nice hit. In wrestling, two guys basically molest each other for 15 minutes. If any of these scenarios can be construed as "cheating," then you are not well acquainted with team sports.

At Swim, Two Boys After a few days passed, Parker posted a schedule of his swim events on the bulletin board in our dorm room. I studied it with great interest. The first meet was on the Saturday preceding Thanksgiving break. I guess swimming is slotted as a winter sport because it is held indoors, not because it requires snow or ice. I suddenly realized how difficult it must be to keep momentum going for a winter sport when both Thanksgiving and Winter Break occur during the season.

Absolutely, Matt and Parker are still in those years where they have fewer responsibilities...and now that they are together, more opportunities. I'd love to take a poll of 1,000 sexually active women in many different countries to see what percentage of females think penises are intriguing and what percentage are totally freaked out by them. I kinda like mine, but of course, I'm biased.

Promise Not to Get Mad School started in September and everything was going as well as could be expected. I never witnessed before how Parker was as a student, except for the high school report card I saw with two A’s and three B’s. He became very popular on our dorm floor and developed a fondness for extracurricular activities, but when he put his mind to it, he was a very good student. Ginny did impress upon me that sometimes Parker needed a little kick in the butt to get focused o

Thanks for the kind words. Some chapters, like this one, almost write themselves.

I liked finding out that Parker and Matt's father are both football fans...but for very different reasons.

Sunday, Sunday My father wasn’t a bad guy. Most people who met him liked his encouraging way and sense of humor. However, he was also very conservative and set in his ways. He was ex-military, Navy to be exact, and led a regimented existence instilled in him during his years on a ship. Dad also had a very sharp mind. He always thought things through and seemed to be two steps ahead in every discussion he had with anybody. There was no one who understood the futility of entering into

Ominous...indeed. There's a storm brewing on the horizon. Let's just hope the wind is blowing in the opposite direction.

Thanks! I'm always happy when something I've written resonates with another person. Keep on reading...

Back To School Why is it that time flies by so quickly when things are going so well? I was having the greatest summer of my life mainly because Parker was a part of it, in all his sweet, charming, innocent, and sometimes impudent beauty. I could add a hundred more adjectives—soft, smooth, warm, sweet smelling, sexy, thoughtful—and it would simply not be enough. And he was completely devoted to me. It was intoxicating, but this happiest of times was also coming to an end. We wer
