Jerry is a local boy that wasn't university material, Roger and Jon hired him for the grounds crew. Jon became Jerry's idol and Jon took him on as a the first of his fishing crew.

For the next few days, I composed advertisements for the Drake. I needed pictures, and Jon had his ideas of the type of pictures. He posed on the bow, I laughed. No, sorry. I spent time in England and most of the pubs had apartments above the pub where the owner lived. I just incorporated that in my story.

I think that loading the ski business was what hurt the lodge the most. Didn't seem like it was coming back.
