I had a hard time when I turned 50 and I was having a hard time when I realized in five more years we will be 65. Colin seemed to accept this much better than I did. He turned the business over to Richie, who promptly hired a graduate of Yale’s business school. I laughed at Colin, every time Richie would stop at the house Colin would ask about the business. Life moves on and death is part of life. GG has spoken to Armand for a long time. She is related to him through the female line. I don't think Armand is going to have time to speak to anyone like GG does but if he did, my bet would be on Tommy.

You are welcome. The idea of a cookbook in memory of Marcel brought to mind the cookbook of Julia Child. She also was a gifted chef as was Marcel.

Yes, Albany will get their home, as long as Joey continues to go fishing, Grandfather may find other places for his money. When Colin bought that boat I'm sure he had no idea of the good that has and will come from it.

Somehow the mourning never closes. There was a chance to see him, missed. There was a chance to say a prayer over his remains, missed. Now there is an emptiness that can't be filled.

I think Marcel saw something in James. Unlike the other two boys, Peter and Billy. James wanted to be a chef, the other boys worked the kitchen for a different reason, they needed money and a place to stay. They did their share and under Marcel's wing they not only survived they grew. Hope all is well, up North

Those who we think will live forever give us the surprises that hurt the most. James has taken this hard. Being close to him for several years and spending two months of the year in his culinary school in France, not being there when he was dying, he felt lost. In the morning, Dr. Hamlin and his guests arrived for breakfast and more ice for a certain gentleman’s fish. Angela was in the kitchen and today’s breakfast was crepes with scrambled eggs. A side dish and a glass of James’s milk concluded breakfast. There was coffee in place of the milk for the adults. Later that morning after the guests all left, Tommy called Armand. “Dad, you should have been here for breakfast. Dr. Hamlin’s guests asked Angela for the recipe after having two more crepes.
