Prayers from the heart are the most sincere. If the good doctors guest heed those words, he may get his home in Albany
-
Based on their fishing success, the mermaids are listening.
-
One would agree with you and the fact that the two main supporters spend a lot of their time with these children tells us that the value of supporting this Home is the love they have for Dad and Pop.
-
I would agree with you but visiting is one thing. Coming up with the money is another thing.

If they were, Hamlin would get his "Home"

Tommy called and said Dr. Hamlin called, “Dad, he said he would like to visit this Saturday and he would have three guests with him. I don’t think it was the ladies from the last visit. Pat thinks it might be three of the men we met in Albany.” “Saturday is fishing day. Give him a call asking if they are fishermen, if they are they could join us on the boat. And if they do, then you need to come with us. I think Pat could handle the Home for the day. Let me know if Dr. Hamlin and guests are

I am an emtional guyt. Writing this chapter from Pat's perspective brought back the plight she was in until Armand and Tommy walked in. She was spending her salary on the kids, the food was second rate, they had to do with what they had.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ivan has a stash for the Home and Pierre. James said he had enough. Christmas will be a very exciting time, the bus trip to see Santa, buying gifts, and singing on the bus.

The phone call to Christian took longer. Henry didn't want someone to come and challenge his ruling. Although I think he was on safe ground. Armand's previous phone call with Christian helped

How can anyone look at those children in the Home without feeling good? But many people can't see particularly when they have everything. I wonder what role GG will play
-
We will wait and see what happens.
-
GG plays a "behind the scenes" role, Will the good doctor get his new Home? I'll bet on Colin and Armand's secret weapon to make it happen.

Having corporate magnates sponsor a Home will take a lot of convincing. They in all probability will not get the attention they would have by supporting the arts, museums, and other public institutions

I always wonder how I would feel if I had to depend on someone while realizing I could be moved from them very quickly. Now Charles and Pierre know that will not happen. Best of all, they have a permanent home and two adults that will look after them.

Tommy and Pat arrived early in the morning. He said they were anxious to get home. “Did you have breakfast?” “We had a coffee.” Checking the time, “If we go to the Home we can have breakfast there before they close the kitchen.” Angela heard them, asked for a ride and now all three left. Charles and Pierre were still home. At 10, I told them to get dressed. “We are going to get your suits.” Charles had tears in his eyes as he hugged me. Pierre had a peanut he split with

Someone coming from a home where the parents had to work hard to make ends meet, walking into a place where the children are being fed healthy food probably was a slap in the face to her. Once she realized how these children were being treated, I'm sure over time resentment arrived.

I think Christian is overwhelmed with taking over his father's business accounts. Before Arnaud died, he set up accounts for his family including Uncle Henri and the remaining family. Pierre inherited his mother's share and his mother's cottage. Christain rented the cottage with the proceeds going into Pierre's account. Knowing Arnaud, I would bet Pierre's accounts can only be accessed by his guardian or through adoption. I am sure Arnaud's offer to Christian wasn't a serious offer because he knew Christian would say no.
-
Christian reaction was a surprise. But I suspected that Arnaud knew how Christian would react. He had probably preferred Armand and Colin to begin with but felt it was necessary to make the offer to Christian.
-
Since Anne Marie's family is in France, they do visit. I suspect Pierre's accounts are in good shape. Arnaud would see to that. Even though Christian didn't want Pierre, Arnaud knew that and set up Armand and Colin as backup.

When she was first hired, she didn't exhibit these tendencies. I think when they started to bring the fish to the Home she began to divert. I would bet if Tommy dug into her buying habits with her grocer, he would have seen she was selling some of the fish to him.

Yes, greed never ends well
-
Christian had a fight with his father, Arnaud about Pierre. i think something happened to Christian. Maybe it was the workload of his father's business. He probably was a little over his head.
-
Yes, Ann was bad news but that wasn't the way she started. Somewhere along the line, she got greedy.

For someone like Pierre who was shuffled among relatives, a permanent home is like a gift from Heaven.

I was in bed for about 30 minutes when Colin arrived with Geno and Angela. I heard them as they passed our bedroom door and then Colin entered our room. In a whisper, “Are you awake?” “Yes, I was waiting for you. It takes me a while to fall asleep when you aren’t here.” After his bathroom stop, Colin slipped into bed. “You missed the excitement tonight.” “What excitement?” “When James went over to make the paella, he asked the cooks to bring the shrimp up from the freezer.
