    Chapter 8

Scott, wants to keep everything low key. He has lived life at high school as a loner, if all of a sudden he has developed a close relationship with someone, he doesn't want to deal with the reaction. He is known as a loner. .

    Chapter 8

Soon, my cousins were there, and since the stone was hot, I joined them. Most of them just liked to play card games or sit around and talk. The younger ones wanted to play games like hiding and seek and wanted me to play as I knew the coolest places to hide. Mom brought the bread up to bake. “Mom, could we build one of these at home?” “Sure. You can build it and take care of it. I’ll teach you how to make bread, and then we can have stone-oven baked bread.” I think she thought I w

    Chapter 7

Scott’s dad drove home with Scott sitting in the back seat. He didn’t see the tears in Brad’s eyes, and Brad didn’t see the tears in Scott’s eyes. “Scott, I like Brad’s parents. I invited them over for dinner next Saturday.” “Dad, we’ll have to make sure your small garden is perfect. I’ll help you Monday and Tuesday to make sure there are no weeds. What did you think of Brad’s dad’s garden?” “He has a nice place there. When you look for a small farm for me, a place like his will d

    Chapter 6

Since I knew the way, I drove. Dad sat in the front, Mom in the back with some dish she made. “The first time I drove here, we were talking so much I missed the turn.” I didn’t miss it this time. Pulling into Brad’s driveway, and before I stopped, there were three people on the porch. “Scott, who is the giant? I think he is even taller than Uncle Vic.” “That’s my Viking, Loki!” Before I got my door open, Brad opened my Mom’s door and was helping her out. Such a Loki! Of course, Dad and

Parental support at a time in our history when homosexuality was considered a horrendous crime of the soul resulting in damnation. The Church was strongly against homosexuality, more so than today. Parental acceptance was the last thing anyone would expect or accept.

It is odd that they refer to both sets of parents as mom and dad. But this tells you something about the parents relationship with the boys. Everyone is accepting and comfortable with their names and their relationship with the boys.
