#47's elephant is the Republican Party. I think Ann is a member of that party.

There is an elephant in the room. But don't worry, Carl will take care of it.

    Chapter 13

She has always played her father when she had to face issues. Her foolish behavior earned Carl's feelings for her.

Yes, the kind of person who no one likes.

    Chapter 13

SOh geez what most likely stupid thing will Mom do? People like her, spoiled, and selfish, never learn until something big forces them to face up. I'm not sure that will work for Ann.

    Chapter 13

Mum is going to be a hard nut to crack. She's self-centered and that isn't good.

    Chapter 7

I don't like violence, but your suggestion is well worth a little aggressiveness against Teddy. They usually get their upcoming sooner or later. I look for Teddy to land in Jail with his father.

    Chapter 12

For example, when Carl was dating her older sister, he would buy flowers, candy, and small gifts. Ann would take these and treat them as hers. She would eat all of the candy, for example. When anything was said, her father would take her side or console her. The mother complained that Ann wasn't doing her chores, and the father made excuses for her. In today's lingo, she was a spoiled child who expected everyone to give in to her. Carl was taking the opportunity to 'get even'

    Chapter 12

Ann is the youngest of the two sisters. Carl and Ann's enmity goes back a long time. It is obvious there is no love between them. Carl treated her differently when the family was there, but that has changed.

    Chapter 13

The next morning while we were doing our morning chores the opportunity to tell Mom came up. As we started to milk the cows, “Davy, someone is in the hayloft. Look at this hay all over the floor. This isn’t normal, it looks like it has fallen in large bunches. Normally there is very little straw here. I wonder if one of the men was cleaning the loft?” “Why would they do that?” “They could be turning it so the hay on the bottom doesn’t rot. If it gets wet it will rot.” The rest of

Teddy's behavior has been influenced by two factors, 1, his early involvement with the border and 2, the families loss of an income, (Father in jail).

    Chapter 12

Later that evening during supper, Uncle Carl asked us if Mom helped us with our chores. Before I or Carl could answer, Mom got up from the table and ran out the back door. “Dad, we saw her at the other house.” I could see Uncle Carl getting mad as he listened to Carl. It didn’t take Uncle Carl to put two and two together. “So she didn’t help with the chores?” “No, Dad.” The look on Uncle Carl’s face told me Mom was going to feel the switch that Uncle Carl had in his hand

    Chapter 7

Summer break came, school was out, and the compromise for Albin's summer was working out. Albin would spend part of each week with his grandparents and the rest with his mother. On Friday, his mother would pay her bill at the local grocer and when Albin was with her, they would go out for dinner. Albin needed to go to the bathroom at one of the local diners. Normally he went at home before leaving but they were anxious to leave and he forgot. Now he had to go. “Mom, I need to go to the bathroom

    Chapter 11

Dad drove like he must get there as fast as he could. He was angry at Mom and if she said anything, he just told her to shut up. His anger could be felt. When we arrived at the farm, Dad went to see Uncle Carl. Mom started to cry. Beth Ann and I sat there watching. Opening the car door, Mom ran into the house, crying. I don’t know what happened but Dad came out with Carl. “David, Carl wants you to stay. I’m going to leave now and head home. Beth Ann, you can come with me or stay.”

    Chapter 6

Victoria and Teddy didn’t visit Angelo and Giulia for three weeks. Gene was working in a small town south of Pittsburgh and wasn’t coming home as often. In the last week of the month, Victoria showed up with Teddy. Albin wasn’t there, he was with his mom and they would arrive later. Closer to dinner time on Sunday, Marie and Albin walked into the house. Asked why they came so late, Marie said she had some work to finish and Albin wanted to stay with her. But she was here now and hungry.

True, but there was a time when he was innocent. His father's problems with the law, his mother having to take in boarders to have money for the necessities. all add up to Teddy's problems.

    Chapter 5

Knowing Teddy there is only one type of magazine. Remember Teddy himself was targeted by the boarder.
