    Chapter 1

I am very sorry that the story struck you so close to home. Losing a parent (or parents) at an early age removes a young person's sense of safety, and connectivity with his or her surroundings. Isolation is extremely tough on the human psyche, and especially so for those ill-equipped to deal with it by experience. The story does revolve on those ideas, but I also wished to show that there is a way out, to reconnect, by finding another or others to share life and love with. No one can replace a lost one. But life can go on with love, if we only make the effort to find it. Thanks for writing.

    Chapter 1

Thanks for taking the time to write. Two people telling me that the language is a problem tells me to look at that.It didn't seem feasible to add translations to the body of the work without interrupting the flow of the story. So...I'll have to see. Thank you again for the very nice words.

    Transplanted

Very sweet tale, warm and well-told, and poignant at the end. Thank you for sharing.

    Chapter 1

Thank you. Very old human places do indeed seem to have hearts and souls. Our old cities, everywhere in the world, are loved and cherished by all of us. That those places might in some way return the favor seemed only natural.
  5. You are not in need of an editor. You are in need of a ladder. In fact, this story has enough levels going at one time that perhaps an escalator would be even better. Quite a light touch you have on things here. I hope it is finished so I will not be disappointed.
  6. Pretty good writing for a guy who barely speaks English! Goed gedaan!

    Chapter 1

Ik ben blij dat je glimlach! I think much of what is there needs no translation - and the few words that people do not get are not essential. People are surprisingly good at inferential thinking, and I gave them the benefit of the doubt there. But a good point, and I will see what can be done. Thanks for the very good words!

    Chapter 3

You write very well. And you tease very well. I am enjoying the heck out of both!

    Chapter 2

Extremely friendly and comfortable story, exciting and humorous, and definitely engrossing. Loved all the characters immediately. If you have less than 30 chapters in mind, please think again. Apologize for the blank in the review of the first chapter. Power went off here just as I went to write. When I came back, it was posted blank.

Thank you for the kind review. You have also made my day brighter!

    Mooi

Coby had lost direction in life after the death of his parents, and had reached a point where he couldn't go on. But then he met someone new - someone extraordinary. Someone not even human. The first in a series of supernatural tales set in Amsterdam, involving myths and legends of that ancient city.

    Chapter 1

Ah, the sunset. Coby had a good view of it from the steel platform; the great golden orb of old Sol as he sank into colors of red and violet that marked good sailing for those at sea. Beneath that great eye in the sky, Damsko spread out in ancient splendor, the city's old towers and its newer, taller buildings only adding to the dignified cluster of its timeworn, leaning houses and businesses. There was a warm and comfortable charm to the city, a sense of vertrouwdheid, that touched t

Well, thank you! Your review is better than the story, I think. I do appreciate you taking the time to give me your impressions. Readers always know more about what they like than do writers, and the input goes a long way towards showing me I have at least stepped in the right direction. Thanks again.

    Chapter 1

Yep.Typos are the bane of any writer's existence. I have several people proof my stuff before posting, and we always miss something. Usually, a sharp-eyed reader like yourself will catch the mistake and let me know. Thanks. I can edit the story, and I'll go back and fix that now.

    Chapter 1

California is actually a beautiful, thriving, and peaceful state. The big cities sometimes aside, it is a great place to live. There are small town mentalities everywhere in this country - and the world - but Californians are, by and large, very liberal in their thinking. I am an east coast baby, but have maintained a fond relationship with the west coast through family and friends for years. It is a fine place to set a story. And, a great place to visit and to live. So you need have no doubts about it at all. Thank you for the review!

    Chapter 1

Thank you. I have always felt that there are enough unhappy endings in the world without me adding to that number. I don't mind strife in a story because that most often makes the characters stronger and the results more satisfying. But I do feel that being gay does not have to mean an unhappy ending. Life is about choices, and I choose to be upbeat.

Thanks for the kind words. This is neither my first nor my last story. Just my first time here. We'll see what happens next! Thanks again.

    Chapter 1

You never know, when you meet someone new, how they might affect the rest of your life. These first meetings might be interesting, or they might seem inconsequential, or even unpleasant. Sometimes they stick, and a relationship - a friendship - develops; sometimes they don't, and the two of you just move on. The ones that stick are the ones that really matter. The people you meet that become friends. These are the relationships on which we build the rest of our lives. Meeting Randy Patterso

    ROYGBV

Roy didn't know that meeting Randy would be a turning point in his life. Or, that his life would never be the same.
