That's a different sort of blob than I'd want to meet! What I love about that clip is that the music is borrowed from I Married A Monster From Outer Space, which came out the same year!

I can only imagine that life on a new world would have to be at least a little bit exciting! Can you imagine colonizing new worlds becoming so mundane that when asked it they want to go, for FREE, people wave their hands and reply, "Nah! I have to mow the lawn!"

It's always been my experience that when anything happens that is even slightly mysterious, people think up just the best ideas to try to explain it. The characters are doing that in the story. It seems to have made the readers think, too!
