1 Being trapped inside your mind wasn’t necessarily as bad as you’d think. There were fragments of an old story that he’d heard years before, by his mother, where a child - curious about the inner-workings of interstellar travel - had conspicuously refused anesthetics before teleporting to the other side of the galaxy. It turned out that to use the teleporter, the subject had to be unconscious because there was technically an eternity between one end and the other. This child,

1 It was about three days of being locked in the room - aside from food and showers - when, for some unexplained reason, the people in charge changed who brought Elliot food. It was a girl, about his age, who had straight brown hair and a neutral expression. Elliot had never gone out of his way to engage her, always too self-involved to get around to that, but after a few days of her bringing him food he finally noticed. “Hey.” He said, grabbing her arm before she got to the door. She lo

Haha, we’ll have to wait and see ;) also the spoiler notes aren’t meant to spoil anything, they’re just to lay out plainly what we’ve learned so far since I feel like my concepts are all over the place lol

1 “And what about the boy?” The short, sandy-haired man said. He looked at the other man hard. “I take it our problem with The Creators has been solved?” They were in the lab, where the large telenode stood solid and looming. Drake thought it looked rather like a sarcophagus and nearly expected the heavy lid to fall off and a corpse to come crawling out. Drake sighed. “The boy’s being tracked. And yes, I took care of the bastards weeks ago.” “Don’t get all fucking sentimental on

Damn I am such a sucker for vulnerable relationships like this. More, more please! Gemini seems so cute!

I really like this story! Please keep it up!

Gemini reminds me of a fragile bunny or curious child. Treat him well!

Chapter 8 Angela looked at Drake with a withering gaze. “Hello, Mr. Weiler,” she said, not hiding the fact that she found him detestable. He stood before the 5 Directors in their chamber. They were the only ones there, yet Drake felt like he was on trial. “Hello, Mrs. Kinsey,” he said, using her real name to irritate her. “May it please this chamber to have my presence.” Angela made a scoffing sound. “Hardly,” she spoke, unceremoniously. “Tell us what is going on.” Drake gu

Chapter 7 Chris had never been to a Government Hall, and so when he arrived - nearly five minutes late - he hardly had time to notice or appreciate the gratuitous use of gargoyles, or the cathedral-like structure, or even the pristine dark red marble floors. He had a harried appearance; as if he had forgotten to turn off the oven at home, he seemed distracted and maybe even a little bit crazed. But that didn’t make him any less of a genius. He half walked, half ran to the room at the

That’s what I enjoy about their relationship. I feel as though truer love is forged in the fire of hardship, which is why I like to write so gritty and bombastic. Now, when they eventually need to go on some kind of mission together, they’ll trust each other completely.

Very true, but don’t discount poor Lucas. He’s frankly had a hell of a time and I think it’ll be fun to explore more of what makes him tick. We have seen now what Elliot has gone through and his nearly ‘angry drunk’ personality at times... I think Lucas is a good match for him because Elliot feels as though he can be vulnerable in front of Luke.

Chapter 6 The next morning the boys seemed to be in a little better spirits. Lucas got up a bit early, citing paranoia that Elliot would be found out, and went to work erasing any sign that he had brought another life into this world. The two ventured down into the basement, where Elliot helped his friend clean up the residue that was left over from his transmutation. Elliot made his way over to the table to the left of the room and ran his hand along the smooth black box that made his j

What can I say, I’m a sucker for dark romance 😂

Chapter 5 The creak of the closet door startled Elliot out of his fitful sleep. Sitting alone in the dark, he had listened to Lucas crying for a long while, but then didn’t know what to do after he heard him leave. The more he thought about the situation, the more he figured it would not be a good idea to just do whatever he wanted. So, he stayed put. Light entered the small closet, and Elliot shielded his eyes. Once his eyes adjusted, he saw an exasperated and well worn-out blonde boy s

Goofus staggered in late, yet again, to Mr. Foley’s class, disrupting the class discussion with a clang of the door and a muttered apology. He was making his way to the back of the classroom, to his seat, when Mr. Foley decided to put him on the spot. “Late again, Goofus?” Mr. Foley said in his characteristically tight, controlled voice. Normally Mr. Foley was pretty chill, but Goofus had been late to class four times this week alone, and the teacher had had enough. Goofus slunk down into hi

Chapter 4 Drake M. Weiler had felt sick all day. He didn’t know why - it was just one of those things. He took some anti-nausea pills that morning, after breakfast, and they had seemed to work for a while. But as he got in his driver and made his way to work, the feeling of bile and uneasiness followed him. He tried to shake it off as he entered the official looking Government building - tried to make himself look presentable - but the feeling wouldn’t let go. It was annoying. “Hello, Dr

Chapter Three His mind reeled as he sat with his back to the bed and his head buried in his knees. He felt as if one push, one tilt to either direction would send him sprawling - creating a mess that he neither wanted to make or make anyone else clean up. Reality came crashing down upon him, and his prior invincibility melted away, replaced with pain and darkness. He hadn’t felt this way since his father died, and now he had to face it again, but seemingly a hundred times stronger. His breat

Just found this thread. One of my favorite classical pieces (or romantic, as it were) is Chopin's Barcarolle. Easily one of my favorite pieces on the piano ever!

Thanks, I appreciate it! Very true. Hopefully what happens will be a twist! Thank you. It's true that Elliot seems to be desensitized, but living in the environment he has been for his whole life seems to add to that effect, in my opinion. As you see in the second chapter, the psychological effects of what he did doesn't quite escape him.

“If you die on me, I’ll never forgive you,” I said, smirking wildly. Nathan wiggled the joystick gratuitously, looking over at me with amused, raised eyebrows. “Oh yeah?” He said, eyeing the arcade machine once more. The little man on the screen skittered to one side but was immediately balanced by Nathan’s practiced hand. Still looking amused, he continued, “See? Look, I’ve - the level’s complete.” “So? You’ve got, what? Like five more to go?” I made a incredulous noise, and took a larg

The guys had been silent to him all throughout his 15 hour shift, and Elliot wasn’t sure how to take it. Well, he actually wasn’t sure if it was because of his bruised and now swelling face, or if it was just because he was a person that was easily discarded. Fair weather friends, he thought, bitterly, shaking his head. His job wasn’t a hard one, but the hours took a toll on him. He work 6 days a week, 15 hours a day in order to provide for his mother, and sometimes himself, and it was taxin
