    Second Chance

Perhaps he was worried that would make Artie hate him

    Second Chance

I guess they're not clever enough to have come up with a good enough trick, plus their lifetime of hatred seems to have caught up with them during the case.

    Second Chance

I think she's another hero of this chapter. I just wish people in town would follow her example.

    Second Chance

It's definitely too odd to just be a coincidence, especially with how weird he was acting.

    The Letters

I'm really glad you're enjoying the story, and especially the characters! I went back and I think I've corrected the rest of the name mistake, thanks for pointing out some ones I've missed!
  6. Chapter 29: Second Chance The next few days I tried my hardest to hold onto that feeling from Monday night. Those quiet nights in with Dizzy, Adam and now Mason, those are what I look forward to most when Adam wins custody. There’s just something special about them, something that makes us feel like a family. Sadie tried her best to calm me down too, but at the end of the day I’m not sure if it made me feel better, or gave me something new to worry about! “Hey Artie,” I heard her che

    Comforted

Good advice! Everyone should buckle in nice and tight for the next few chapters

    Comforted

I agree, I think Adam's laid back attitude might get him in some deep water when it comes to legal cases like this one.

😶 But don't worry next chapter should be out pretty soon. It's a bit longer than my usual chapters, so it's taken me a bit more time.

Drinking tons of water really helps like you said. My roommate used to be disgusted by how much water I would drink after a night out . Although, Adam's hangover cure works surprisingly well depending on how much water you drank the night before.

    Comforted

I agree, personally drinking would just stress me out more! Especially if a hangover does hit the next day.
  12. Chapter 28: Comforted Mr. Charles may not have said much, but of all the people who have tried to encourage me, his words hit the hardest. I could see a concerned look from Adam as we headed back to the group, but he quickly shook it off and forced a smile. “I’m proud of you.” Dizzy tried to comfort as he immediately joined my side. I shot him a strange look and went to say something but he looked to Mr. Charles before I could. “Hey Mr. Charles, long time no see.” He began as his smile

I'd be lying if I said I haven't started work on planning out parts of it and even starting the first chapter. But it'll have to wait for Golden City to finish!

I'm glad you've been enjoying it! Next chapter should be up within the next couple of days.

Her name is Sarah, in the first chapter her middle name Mary is mentioned. I must have mixed up the two somewhere along the way! I'll go back and correct it, thank you for catching it! Sorry for the confusion!

Thats tragic. I can’t imagine what that poor child is going through. The bio-mom doesn’t sound sane enough to be responsible for a child.
  17. I can't believe how good Point has been this season. You could probably build an all star team with lightening players! Hedman is certainly deserving as well.
  18. Sounds great! Thank you for the help. It's appreciated!

    Distracted

Exactly. It is complicated that Artie wouldn't be able to stay in California while this is getting figured out. You would think states wouldn't have minors being dragged all over for custody battles. Unfortunately, I've read many true stories of kids being forced across the country just for court. Or, even worse, parents without full custody taking the child and running to different states.
  20. Deflecting gently sounds like a good strategy. I think I've made the mistake of trying to figure out how to answer all aspects of questions in the past. So I'll certainly be trying out this way of responding.
  21. It's great to hear from a readers perspective. I'll make sure to at least react from now on, but hopefully I'll start consistently replying as well.
  22. Creating that balance does sound important, especially when helping readers feel appreciated.
  23. It's nice you stand up for yourself when you need to in your comments. It's an unfortunate thing that needs to be done from time to time. But I do agree with trying to be positive as much as possible. P.S. I have money on the duo of Kucherov and Stamkos leading the NHL in points by the end of the year. So far I have a decent lead in front of my other friends in on the betting!
  24. Waiting a day or two is a good idea. In addition to help readers have their discussion without interference, I'm sure it's helpful as an author to gather your own thoughts as well!
  25. Going back and responding to old comments is a good idea. I'll have to look through some of my stories and a few I haven't replied to yet.
