Alex is a bit dense when it comes to people's feelings, he's smart but not when it comes to emotions. He'll be showing that in a lot of later chapters.

I agree with you about the summer camps, the weather probably wouldn't be the greatest, but they think we'll have an Indian summer in 2018 until Christmas! Thanks from commenting!

Alarms bells rang drawing me from a pleasant dream where Tobi, Mac, Matty and I were strolling along the beach. Cobwebs stuck to my mind as I struggled to wake up. As the alarms screeched louder, it felt like cold water had been poured on me, and I was instantly awake. “Daisy, sitrep?” I shouted out. “There is a fire in Bio lab One,” she said in her calm voice, “Level three has been sealed while the elevator has also been locked down,” “Great,” I muttered, suddenly terrified.

“Hello, is there anyone here?” a voice called out. I immediately recognised Mac’s voice, so I grinned evilly at the younger boy lunging at him. Despite a late night and sleeping poorly, I was still up really early. Contrary to what I had told the others yesterday, I decided to do a little exploring independently. No noise seemed to come from Tobi’s mouth as he froze with a look of horror on his face. Time seemed to slow as I turned, bracing myself for the fatal bite of a zombie. “I am sure it is probably someone’s idea of a practical joke, calm down,” I shouted, trying to reassure the children not long after a scream had been heard. I turned to Jamie, and another counsellor speaking with a newfound authority, “Get the children towards the bus and let Mr Robert’s know Mac and I will be there shortly,” “All right, Alex,” Jamie accepted my commands without question, and the pair of counsellors herded the children down an alleyway towards the buses.
