  1. Thanks I'm still dealing with a lot of writers block regarding larger stories, but hopefully writing some shorter stories can help with that.
  2. The screech of a bird stopped Narein in his tracks. His tail fluffed out in alarm, his triangular ears swivelling toward the sound. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. A fiery red Cervidas with tiny antlers was waiting for him at the end of the dirt road, her slender fingers poking at a phone as she leaned against a towering tree. Skye was right where she’d said she would be, and relief flooded Narein’s chest. He’d half expected her acceptance of the date to be a p
  3. First dates are always scary. Especially for those with a disability. When cultures collide, first dates can take on yet another level of complexity. Can Narein Giin navigate a strange culture and a stutter, to win the heart of his love?

    Chapter 66

Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it
  5. Not to jack the thread, but if you're looking for shifter stories, I cannot recommend @Headstall's Morningstar: The Malaise enough. In addition, @Sasha Distan has Tiger Winter, a story that leaves a longing in my heart to reread constantly, and A Wolf and His Man, and Born Wolf, both of which are very unique looks into werewolves.

I want to thank everyone for their wonderful comments and for following this story. I posted the last chapter late at night, and was so tired I forgot to add a note at the end

    Chapter 66

DEVYN The door flew open, bouncing off the wall as Devyn shoved through it. Behind him, Jason flicked on the lights and closed the front door, rubbing at a small mark where the knob had hit the wall. Devyn pulled out his phone. A startled yelp escaped him as Jason pulled the phone out of his hands. “I need to call Dad to let him know we got home.” ‘Later,’ Jason signed, setting the phone aside. Devyn watched his mate move through the room, making sure the blinds w

    Chapter 65

JASON Nerves bubbled in his chest. Tonight was going to change so many things. Jason sipped at the glass of cranberry wine at the table, grimacing at the taste. He’d never been a fan of alcohol, and the bitterness of the cranberries only made the burn worse. Across the table, Devyn was eating with his usual fervour, his wine largely ignored. Jason still hadn’t seen him in his clothes for the dance; Richard seemed to think the surprise was important for the night. All Jason

    Chapter 64

DEVYN Jason’s hands slipped off his butt, pulling a quiet whine from the wolf. Their bodies were pressed together against a deserted wall, hugging, to those who didn’t know any better. ‘I will see you at lunch,’ the neko signed, his lips pressing one last kiss against Devyn’s. “Can we kiss again at lunch?” Devyn whispered, glancing around to make sure no one was watching. A tall hedge kept them out of sight, but he knew Jason was worried about being caught even with th

    Chapter 63

Well, we do know Richard enjoys it Maybe Jason needs to just let loose a bit. Or maybe the two need to understand their own boundaries and work to accommodate them.

    Chapter 63

JASON A mattress lay sideways on the large bed frame, a purchase made on their way home from the tailor. The neko stared at it in frustration, trying to figure out how to make it fit. Pushing against the heavy mattress, he let out a hiss as it moved a centimetre before jamming again. Jason had convinced Richard to let him keep working on the house until dark, with the hope that he and Devyn could spend the night at the house after the dance. He glanced out the window, takin

    Chapter 62

DEVYN The wolf stood against the wall of the school, watching the entrance of the car park warily. Richard hadn’t sounded angry on the phone, but he knew how quickly that could change at home. How often had Margaret told him she wasn’t mad before yelling at him? He was on his feet as soon as the car reached the curb. Before it had stopped, Devyn had the door open and was fighting the buckle of his seatbelt, trying to be as compliant as possible. “Hey, slow down there,” Rich

    Chapter 61

JASON They pulled smoothly into the car park. Jason stepped out of the front seat, opening Devyn’s door for the wolf. Unbuckling his brother’s belt, the neko straightened up, making sure he had Devyn’s attention before signing. ‘I’m not coming to school with you today. Dad wants me to drive more.’ He leaned back into the car before Devyn could protest, pressing a gentle kiss to the wolf’s lips. Pulling away after a short second, Jason helped Devyn out of the car, making sur

    Chapter 60

DEVYN The car flew through the air, dropping into the river with an explosive splash. Water flooded around the vehicle as it slowly sank. Devyn let out a loud laugh as he watched. A moment later, he realised he had no idea how to get the car back out, and the wolf let out a groan, turning to Patrick. He pointed at the screen, signing what he hoped meant ‘new car’. “You realise the goal of the game is to pick people up and drive them to their destination, right?” Patrick smi

    Chapter 59

JASON Devyn’s hand held the neko’s tightly. Jason stroked the wolf’s hand with his thumb, his other hand keeping a stunted conversation going with Dylan. It required spelling a lot of the words out, and the marble neko tried to keep his sentences short. ‘So eingar are a sort of priest?’ “Yeah, they were calicos who became female to help petitioners who preferred not to worship with a male,” Dylan explained quietly. “There was a group of healers who would perform surgery on

    Chapter 11

ITUMAK The neko groaned tiredly as a body rolled on top of him. Eyes cracked open in the dark, a comforter wrapped around Itumak’s body as his mind caught up to the waking world. “Fuck… gimme the blankets…” A hand ran along his body, and suddenly the comforter was slipping away, falling off the neko’s naked body. The chill of early morning struck Itumak, and he let out a shivering breath, slowly sitting up in bed. Reaching blindly for his phone, the neko smacked a tall

    Chapter 10

ITUMAK The neko let out a long sigh as he closed the door behind him. A week of nonstop work, and he still had more to go. The barracks were clean of dust, but he still needed to get Captain Darren’s approval for new beds, fix the plumbing, get the lighting changed out… it was a never ending list. And now, thanks to Aaron, he couldn’t even ask for help to get it all done. Adding that list to the four daily hours of community service at the orphanage… “Fuck, I get it Aaron. I sho

    Extra Scene

This was an extra scene, not necessarily in chronological order. It seemed to make more sense putting it here instead of making an entirely new story.
  23. Runners hissed over an icy road, a team of foxes panting softly as they pulled at a sled. Overhead, the sun was just starting to dip, the early spring day ending with surprising swiftness. It had been explained to Elias that the further north he went, the faster the days would become. That made little sense to the neko; his planet seemed to be the opposite. But then, what would he know next to the god who had taken him from his world? Elias shook that thought from his mind. Artemis was

    Chapter 9

AARON The elf sat under the early sunrise, his eyes closed against the light that was growing. He felt restless again, as though his wolf was pacing inside him. Nearly three months since his first shift, Aaron had yet to learn how to actually control the beast that shared his body. “Look, we’re outside. You like the outdoors. Now sit down and let me think,” the prince muttered. It didn’t work that way, and Aaron knew it. Why would a wolf listen to him? He was nothing specia
