It had been a full day since Kieran and Rory left for Ironwood. Twenty-four hours of supposed research time. Twenty-four hours of potential progress. Twenty-four hours of absolutely nothing. Desmond sat at the long, spiraling desk in their assigned study room, eyes skimming the same half-translated passage on soul-bind theory for the third time, but his focus kept slipping—because across the polished crystal floor, Ash was currently balanced on the edge of the terrace railing, trying t

Chapter Thirty-Three
mastershakeme commented on mastershakeme's story chapter in Chapter Thirty-Three
This would be bad! And it's a fun idea for next time! The following Kieran part, but meeting the Morain, probably not. Wow, I guess it really is! More reason for Kieran to finish the trials quickly so he can stop lying 😂- 10 comments

The door to the healer’s chamber clicked softly behind them. Kieran followed Virelle down the narrow stone hallway, both of them silent until the bustle of healers and guards faded behind thick walls. Only then did she slow her steps and glance around, eyes narrowing on a quiet alcove lit by a flickering torch. Without a word, she slipped a rolled parchment from the folds of her sleeve and handed it to him. Kieran took it carefully, his heart already pounding. “I finished the

They landed hard. Ash stumbled forward a step, boots dragging on old stone. The light vanished in a snap, leaving only warm firelight and the scent of lavender and old parchment. He blinked. This was… Desmond’s bedroom. Somehow, the portal had dropped them right into the heart of Arcum’s castle—magically protected, quiet, hidden away from the chaos outside. Desmond exhaled sharply beside him, his chest rising and falling. His hands slowly loosened from Ash’s tunic, and then h

Desmond adjusted the strap of his pack as the morning sun broke over the ridge, gilding the dew-slick grass in dull gold. It was the fourth day of travel, and despite the aching weight in his shoulders and the constant press of war on his mind, Desmond couldn’t stop thinking about Ash. The first three days had been quiet. Focused. Ash had kept his distance, respectfully so. At night, they lay side by side only to preserve warmth—and nothing more, though Desmond always felt the heat of him,

Honestly, I'm slightly curious to try the little fishies now. I love seafood, how is this any different? And I'm a pineapple 'goes' on pizza kind of person, as well 😎

I was picking up a pizza today, and the lady behind me was gushing about the anchovies she'd ordered with hers. I was like 'is this lady for real????'

Idk, I kinda saw his 'mission' taking place over several (3 or 4) different attempts. There are 5 (I think that's what I said) tests he has to complete to prove he's worthy. So, he'll have to sneak away 4 different times. But now as I write this I'm doubting myself and think it's dumb! 😂

LOL Kieran leaving for his secret missions wasn't going to be the hard part, but maybe I could add a little drama to event, inspired by you, of course 😁

I know 😂 so, while Rory cries his eyes out over nothing... An adventure is taking place! Back to the adventure 😂😂

Three days had passed since Rory and Kieran gave their rallying speech in the village square, and the results were already evident. A significant number of soldiers had returned to Arcum—some veterans of previous campaigns, others barely out of teenage years—and the courtyard was packed. Groups of the returning soldiers stood in loose clusters, many sporting injuries, and nearly all of them weathered by fear, fatigue, and war. It wasn’t just seasoned soldiers though. Near the outer wall, a clust
