I first read this on Nifty, but I wanted to leave comments. The story seems unfinished, like the other side of the coin. It's touching and sweet, however, live just does not happen this way. There are too many disappointments to overcome and I'm not sure things should work-out so fast. I need more, much more.

I don't know Com and he prefers to be invisible to us, however, from the many stories that he has written and the messages that they have conveyed, I love this man so much, for the heart and emotions he's put into his stories. [Sorry about the run-on sentence]. Although this story has no direct connection to me, it touched something in me that I just cannot describe. Yes, it was so difficult to read, due to the tears in my eyes, and I could feel the emotions. I hate these stories, simply because they happen every day-- there are often no happy endings, no solutions, no one is satisfied or entertained. Sure the plot is fictional, but the events are NOT-- they are as real as it gets.

I just don't know what to say-- just how could this be made into even an 'R' rated movie. I suppose the sex scenes can be narrated through with the dialogue. Now to wait 9 months to get the next delivery.

Getting better-- I say it's time for IT to hit the fan. Tanner is such a strong person-- really where did his values come from. It is almost like he took everything that he saw and heard and reversed it. My Mom did the open the door without a knock and got an eyeful. Basic courtesy to knock on a closed door and wait for an answer-- not try the handle and walk in.

That was a puff chapter-- just a filler. Your better than this Com, need some meat to feed your fans.

Another perfect chapter-- this is the set-up to probably the next 10 chapters. Opportunity comes knocking, Chris steps-up with Mitch, Tanner comes-out to his parents and Johnson's gang gets their own reward. I think that Derrick and Tanner should be more public with their affections at school.

Well another perfect chapter-- I think I am ready for Tanner to drop the bomb. There is sure to be fireworks. I would hope that there could be some kind of understanding with his parents. Then there is a meeting of the families involved. Tanner's parents have their eyes opened by Derrick's Mom, without the boys present, when she tells them about the dinner and Tanner's view of his family. Just an idea.

It's heating up and Derrick's Mom is in the ride of her life. The food is going to be so great that it will be suggested to Chris for his Dad's restaurants' menus. She will get a huge salary and become head chef. Just thinking out loud.

The perfect chapter-- amid the conflict, stress, and joys, the quite resolve of Derrick and his Mom & Joel and his Mom. Ending with the late night call to Tanner-- yes, he is just the perfect person (careful to set him so high on a pedestal). Please don't do, to this story, what you did to Billy Chase!!!

Well, we knew that Derrick's Mom was getting things 'ironed out' and that Joel was next on the agenda. Great to see if Joel will go home or stay there with Mom's blessing. Perhaps things could go south on Tanner when he tells his parents and will need to stay with Derrick or not.

You can really expect the same quality of writing from Com-- I've read many short stories and full length stories that are continuing chapters [just not added often enough].

Having trouble with the casting of A Class By Himself-- the Movie. I leaning toward Julie Walters (Harry Potter) for Derrick's Mother. I have the faces for everyone but no names.

Comments well taken. Chris is heartbroken and should not be there without Tanner. Joel would probably figure it out that the 2 girls were actually 2 guys-- and here they are. Mom would come home and things would clear up for her. Derrick needs to tell Chris about Mitch being interested in Chris (the conversation in the hallway).

I sorry-- I'm unable to find the words that would properly define the feelings. I'm happy that Derrick is safe. I'm sad to think about what added pain that Chris is going through. I still think that coming-out would be the best for Tanner and Derrick, and possible even Chris. The truth is always the best, even when you cannot see what is on the other side. Great writers can evoke emotions that are hidden and forgotten. Com has that perfect ability with the 'one-man-speeches' that changes everything for a character and often reader. The movie that my mind creates, as I'm reading, is so rich with the feelings that Com has managed to depict with his words.

Just read The Secret Life of Billy Chase, that will show you just how bad things can get and how losing your heart to your head [stop feeling with your heart and trying to act logically] will cause far more problems. I love the way this is finally going.

Revenge is dish best served COLD. Chris watch out-- the best laid plans of mice and men come to ruin. The best thing the Tanner and Derrick can do is simply trump him. Come-out, inform the Principle of the computer fraud [Derrick's records having been printed-out] and the continuing hacking [need to put in more security]. Take Chris' fire away!!!!

Why am I not surprised. Saw this with Billy Chase and Bobby and Jimmy. Perhaps I should expect to see this situation in every story that is more than 10 chapters. And why do all of the heartbroken people have to run off. They always seem to blow up then leave and everything is just hanging (NO pun intended).

They cannot call Tanner-- they do not have cell phones. It was very rare for people with very low income to have a cell phone. Funny thing is-- I see them all of the time at Medicare/Medicaid offices. Hope the night isn't over and humanity restore their faith.

Sounds very similar to the situation that Billy Chase has with Jimmy [who needs to get back on his Lithium]. This can turn psychotic very quickly. First Chris was going for Tanner [would not give him the time of day] and when Derrick showed him some compassion, he switches and kisses him.

Chapter 1 of The Secret Life of Billy Chase was posted September 2007 [person writing in Journal]. And the reference to Ryan and Tyler are from New Kid in School. So, it sure looks like Chris is quite confused and emotions are running wild.
