Yeah, although Joel definitely leaned into being a Traitor of sorts lately, it was already going to happen/started to happen. Lorianne was labeled because she was the one judged out of the three of them involved in that incident. Funny how people keep saying, "she plays up to it..." but we've not seen her do that, have we?

He does seem rather level headed, don't know how he kept up with Jonny this long... or maybe he's just the most level headed of the crowds he wishes to be part of... that's probably it. I can't speak on either one of these characters very much... I'm risking stuff. So, I'll move along now.

It may be a shift in the times, but I've seen more girls wreck the hearts their boyfriends, than I have the other way around. It may be that my mother decided to pop out mostly boys and they're dating... and I'm protective as hell. But yeah. Those teenage hormones... they can run away with the logical part of their brains. I guess that's what makes it all fun... a mess, but fun. As a parent, I'm horrified.

Yeah, I think Lorianne and Joel's sort of attachment to one another stems from both of them being odd outcasts. They're both outcasts over things outside of their control to be honest. Joel's rather paranoid about it, but she has seemed just friendly and not too forward about wanting anything more out of him. Maybe Roy will notice. Or maybe she'll allow herself to see Roy, at least to me, she gives off an energy that she's over guys until she gets out of Fletcher County. Her and Joel are kind of mirrored there too, he once thought he couldn't/wouldn't possibly even shouldn't find anyone until he's away from the people who knew him at Tempton. But... all of that is just rambling... who knows.

I'm on my last cringe when it comes to my prompt. I don't know if I can be brave enough to finish it. Have it edited, and put on the list for posting. I'm well aware that I'm running out of time too. I wanted to make an effort to actually participate in these things, I'm usually a few days shy and a few 100k words too long.

Poor Roy, seems to have his eyes on the two girls that won't be available. At least not until after high school, but he'd have to be sure they're interested in him too, for him to wait a year. Teenage brains don't like to wait. Lorianne doesn't have any suitable date options either, but I think she'll be okay with that, she seems to be getting a lot of unwanted attention just like Joel. It would be sort of adorable for Gavin to sort of be this sneaky little cupid... a bit unhinged at times, but still cute, maybe? 😮 and yeah, now you have to wait alongside everyone else. You caught up fast.

It may be safe to say that it was a mixed bag of both. 😮 Both dumb and... brave. No one probably saw it coming.

A totally seemingly random chance meeting with Davin would've been interesting. But I think Roy or an Unnamed dude, maybe a teammate would've won out if I kept him in the Benton household. I do like a good "enemies to lovers," story.

Ohhhh! Why'd you edit out the long version... that was funny. An entirely different dynamic, but it was so good. And hot decembers.. I don't know if I should be jealous as it is 29F here. I do like a little respite from heat... but not a long one. Nice almost poetic start to the... shortened version. I'm glad @Okiegrad caught you with your writer fingers all over the keyboard. I already said I don't care if people take my characters and run. There's not a whole lot of 'my' Joel in the passages you wrote. It makes me sad to see him carefree and all the way settled, I didn't give much of that to him in the writing so far. But I don't mind you doing so, not in the least. But Gavin wouldn't have a hairy ass. Davin maybe, but not Gavin. I don't even think Gavin can grow facial hair all that well, if I'm remembering correctly.. the rest of him kind of followed that trend. and I don't know if sweet guy Roy could handle Davin, but he may like trying.

I would never! I merely was commenting that you were wanting Colt/Joel - Jolt, or more Colt than anything, but since Joel is the narrator, you might have had to settle with his moody butt. Then you found out how tall they were whilst being jockish. Although Colt isn't Jockish, he's more corn-fed and country bred... so to speak. But still tall. Lanky.. and tall, but not bookish, punk, or I can't remember all the rest. Something to do with beards, unless they're in the process of coming out of their pants?
