MESSAGE BOARD TOPIC #37
WoodCarver replied to Comicality's topic in Comicality's Shack Clubhouse's Cafe
I've been bad... I got so caught up in my own Holiday miseries that I didn't take the time to reply to this. While I certainly enjoy the descriptions of beautiful boys. It's the reality that you bring to the stories that draws me in. The emotion you describe, the loving nature of the boys is what entices and enthralls me! Your stories are so truly honest that could only come from your heart to mine. Love Ya! -
Yes I guess I can be counted as a 'yes' if it fits withing Comsie's schedule. I'd hate to impose on Com's time just to read a sequel if it means be ignores even a second of the time he needs for himself.

Hey Com, I just found the '2 Below' story... I don't know how I missed it earlier. It was fabulous. I really loved how Gordon who seemed so secure in himself early on, got so nervous when he started realizing how interested he was becoming in Seth. And I loved how Seth finally became sure of himself and what he wanted from Gordon. I really loved how you turned the tables on this story confidence becoming insecurity. And insecurity turning confident. Art doesn't just imitate life, it seems to really mirror it. As usual you took me back to some really happy memories. Thanks sweetie! The story seemed really completed to me, and I guess that's how you intended it to be - a single episode. But I'd like to see (if you wanted to do a sequel) Seth settle the issue of his being gay and maybe some of his home life. I'd love Seth to become confident enough so that he doesn't care who knows that he loves Gordon. That would truly make them a couple! Lenny

Hi Gemini, I don't usually post a reply to people answering Comsie's Topic of the week, but I felt it necessary in this particular case. I read that you're shy about meeting this guy on the bus and I'll wish you the best. Try bringing a change of clothes with you to work and since it seems your employer doesn't have showers for employees, just change clothes in the bathroom after washing up. Also why not bring some of the seafood they serve at the restaurant you work in on the bus with you. That way if he notices the scent you can use that as a way to start a conversation, and offer him some. I really hope everything turns out well for you! Good Luck Lenny "A lot of people are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges." -

[Myr] I decided to do some stuff...
WoodCarver replied to Myr's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
:king: Myr, when you said that we'd take over the world I thought you meant the one we're living in now! Hehehe... :2hands: -
I know what you mean Com, about the two names having to fit well together. Like... If Comicality was in the lot he'd be Taryn into Justin! Hehehe... Read the sentence again... Got it???... Ugh... Hehehe...

"Gone From Daylight: Pride And Prophecy"
WoodCarver replied to Comicality's topic in Comicality's Shack Clubhouse's Cafe
That's sweet that you won't let Richie die. I think Com said that Richie doesn't play any other part in the story. Maybe he's just motivation for Justin. So both of us can believe that Richie survives and gets well. -

Sleepovers.... ::sighs:: I remember those... Any volunteers? Ummm... What were we talking about? I seem to have gotten distracted. Hehehe. I happen to like those 'patterns' Can't you tell? 'Limits'? What are those? I think of those patterns as comfortable reminders of the authors feel in my brain. What the hell does that mean? Hey I have only had one cup of coffee this morning, and I'd rather be snuggling with a certain sleepover partner. But he's in Illinois. Sigh.... Hehehehe!! MOOOOOO! -
New "Library" contest!
WoodCarver replied to Comicality's topic in Comicality's Shack Clubhouse's Cafe
The only way I could win is if nobody entered the contest. Even then I might not get enough votes! Hehehe. I regret to announce that the contest has been canceled. This is a genuine UNOFFICIAL announcement! Nah! Just kidding! -

Crash to Desktop on accessing Com's site
WoodCarver replied to dkstories's topic in Comicality's Shack Clubhouse's Cafe
Older browsers (very old) don't support frames, Comsie's site is a framed page site.. You don't say which browser or version number you're using. Nor do you say what Computer/OS version you're using. Do you get any message about Frames Support. Is this issue regular, have been able to repeat the 'crash' circumstances, has a cold boot helped, do other sites crash? These are questions you need to be able to answer in order to get support. I'll monitor this thread in case you reply with more information. Edited Addition: Try going directly to the page you want if you can't resolve the crash issue. Stories page: http://comicality.gayauthors.org/stories.html News Page: http://comicality.gayauthors.org/news.html Website + page: http://comicality.gayauthors.org/webplus.html Notes page: http://comicality.gayauthors.org/notes.html Links page: http://comicality.gayauthors.org/links.html You can go directly to each page by entering the URL in the address bar and pressing enter. Hope this helps until you resolv your issues... Um... with your computer. Hehehe -
MESSAGE BOARD TOPIC #25
WoodCarver replied to Comicality's topic in Comicality's Shack Clubhouse's Cafe
I guess my answer (late I realize) is I've never read a story that I loved and a version that was 'toned down for the masses', It might be interesting to see both versions and compare. But if I read the straight version and knew there was a young gay version that I couldn't find, I might feel cheated (or rather disappointed) if I couldn't find it. Not having been here for very long I've never seen a writing challenge. I'd like to try. But everyone should put on sunglasses (welding goggles) before they read and promise not to laugh afterwards. It would be interesting to see a challenge where both an 'underground' and 'masses' version story were written so we could compare the feel one to the other, to see how the translation faired. God what am I suggesting I'd be lucky to write a gay version, at least that I know about. My straight version would likely make Jerry Faldwell yearn to be gay. -
It may be satire but a good lesson for intolerent people everywhere. I'll post the URL on my intranet at work. Thanks!

I've read the same mistake in stories I've written a dozen times and not seen it. Giving someone else a chance to read it the mistakes were noticed immediately. Spell checking doesn't always work either. Two, To and Too as a simple example slip past any good spell checker, some grammer checkers will highlight the error. But as Myr said an author can be too (or is it two or to) close to the story. Additionally I use a wireless keyboard, I must have pissed it off in some former life because it likes to introduce it's own spelling errors. If I make nice do you think it will write the story while I watch?

I don't know if this thread will get viewed but anyway... I use a product called "Liquid Surf". I's better than just increasing font size in the view menu. That doesn't always work, if the Webmaster codes his site with an actual font size #px instead of #em that it breaks. It doesn't help with anything but text anyway. Liquid Surf scales from 75% to 250% and works on everything on the page, except the text cursor, that's hardcoded into the Windows GUI. Liquid Surf is available here. There are other options for viewing web pages. Take a look. Oh... and it's trialware. You can try before you buy.

Well... Now I'm confused. You may not have intended to imply that you 'just read up on' vampires, but it seems that way to me... Next you'be telling me that they're not real and that Santa Claus is a figment of someone's imagination! I'm crushed! No don't tell me. Na Na Nana Na Na, I can't here you. Seriously though, I used to belong to a VietNam Veterans board on DepressionNet (sounds worse than the name implies) and occasionally someone would post, and it was obvious to me that the story was just researched. The buzz words would just be wrong. So given that the story is one I have intimate knowledge of, yes I can tell. Please don't tell me GFD is not real! -
Comsie it seems once again your *demanding* fans have managed to insist that you give up more of your time for them. I don't feel that these people have the right to demand that you change *your* story to suit them. It's bad enough that you'll be leaving out two of your characters to complete GFD by June 19, but to *pressure* you to make futher alterations is unconscionable. I'm disappointed in *us* for doing so. Comsie if I had a right to make my own suggestion it would be this; just write what's in your heart. That is the story we all love anyway. If a *few* people want a story to move faster... well there's a scroll button to the right, USE IT! Well I'm off topic, one or two weeks... Hm... I guess the guestion is how fast do you think up the questions? If in the first few days you get all the replies that are going to come in, and you have more to ask then a week seems to be good to me. I guess for the first time since I found The Shace and your Stories, I really begin to understand your need to leave and get on with finding your *own* happiness. Just wish I found you six years ago. Again off topic; whatever... Just go out and have some fun. Damn gonna be late for work! Gotta go. Bye.
