That would make a lot of sense.
-
Girls too, given what they said about Elise having "regulars."

Tasha: Tasha gazed at the squarish, slightly run down apartment block before her, then glanced down at the address on her phone screen. Well, it was the right place alright. It always amazed her how completely unassuming places where bad things happened looked. She shrugged, squared her shoulders, and stepped inside. Tasha glanced down to check the address on her phone screen. Well, it was certainly the right place. She looked around, casting her eyes once more over the richly decorate

I mean, fair, but that does assume that Peter's gun is for regular home defence.
-
There is indeed a reason Peter's gun was mentioned. 😜
-
They very much could. I mean, Casper and Tasha are already doing the sensing and beating part as a duo on purpose, so it's not a huge step to add James to the mix.

Have no fear. The answers shall occur in time.

You are very welcome! 🙂

The marks are a thing was very briefly explained at the start, but it was an easy to miss thing, so I'll offer a broad overview here: The marks of purity are a series of interlocking facial markings that (usually) appear on a person's face when they lose their virginity, typically covering their left eye lid. There are times when they don't appear, even after someone has lost their virginity. And there are times when they appear even when someone is still a virgin. For example, they wouldn't tend to appear if you lost your virginity while you were unconscious, but they might appear if you get too excited during a first time, and reach orgasm before any of the actual sex has happened. In essence, it relates more to the personal sensation of sexual innocence than actual sexual history. The marks of pain, on the other hand, tend to cover the left cheek, just below the marks of purity, and they tend to appear whenever a person has experienced a large amount of pain. Most people develop them at some point, and the age range varies. Some kids get them breaking their arms. Some people get them by giving birth. They aren't exactly stigmatized, cuz they can be caused by pretty much any injury. As for why and how they happen... Spoilers.

James: “Soo… You gonna come down or what?” As she spoke, Tasha took a step or two back, before launching herself into the air and neatly vaulting the wire fence once more. She landed in a crouch in the alleyway and rocked back onto her rear, one arm coming to rest on one of her knees as she gazed up at him. James glanced down at the ground, still dozens of feet below him, and swallowed. “I uhh… I haven’t figured out how yet. I’m… kinda stuck.” “Oh, new power?” Tasha asked wit

Hehe. Tasha: "I'm cool tho! I swear!" 😡
-
They would make a good team. 🙂
-
That sounds very plausible.
-
Indeedly so.

There's also the fact that Sarah knows James doesn't like how protective everyone is being. She's trying to give him space, and fighting her own instincts as a mother to do so.
-
James: “James, Bex.” Sarah’s voice called from the kitchen. “Breakfast’s up in five. Finish getting ready!” “Kay!” James shouted back, his head turning momentarily towards his bedroom door, before returning his attention to the mirrored door of his closet. He watched himself closely, holding onto the handle as firmly as he could. “Okay,” he mumbled under his breath. “Now then. Fly. Go on.” He tried to will himself upwards off the ground. Nothing. He groaned, then tried again, thinking

You're welcome. And thank you for sharing. I hope you like my work.

Agreed on most counts. Casper's struggling with his powers, and Tasha is kinda dumb about the problem here.
-
Glad to hear it! Also glad to see people engaging with the ideas I'm hinting at 🙂

Replying to both of these at once since they're so similar. I agree. He really is trying to get over it, but help would definitely, uh, help. He's lucky, there. He has a loving family, good friends, and a capable therapist.

Their talents helping to solve the crime is certainly possible. I totally agree in thinking they'll be good for each other. As for not being sure about the gun; that's okay. You're not supposed to be sure about it.

The rich guy with too much time on his hands line was not a one off. James is kind of a superhero nerd. It wasn't a teacher. I don't consider that a spoiler, so I'll just tell you here. James heard the guy's voice. He'd have recognized it, if it was a teacher, even though he never saw the guy's face. The person who did it was a total stranger to him. I kinda wanted to avoid the additional trauma factor of James being betrayed by someone he trusted, so I very much on purpose made it a person with no connection to him at all. Literally a stranger in a gas station.

James: James exited the school building with a yawn. It had been a tiring day. A good day, to be sure, but a tiring one. He glanced sidelong at Casper walking alongside him. The other boy had come to find him the moment classes ended, picking up their conversation where they’d left off at lunch without missing a beat. “So, how’re you getting home?” He asked, gesturing to the parking lot. “My parents usually come to pick me up, you?” “Meh,” Casper shrugged. “I walk home. It’s not t
