  1. "I feel sick… I… I mean, how, you're not real you can't be." "Jake, I can't explain… I mean, I can explain, but I can't right now. You need to believe me. I am who I say I am." "Ethen, I… I mourned you, I grieved for you, what the fuck… I mean, what the FUCK!" "Can I see you?" "WHAT?!" I screamed, making the few people that were in the park look over at me. "How is that even possible?" "I… I don't know, baby; I just have to. I couldn't do this anymore, wondering where yo

Thank you, very much for the kind comment. I'm made up you enjoyed the conclusion.
  3. "Sorry, dad, can you back up a moment. Are we talking about the same Colin here, Ethen's Dad?" "I know; I can't get my head around it either." "As I said to your father, Jake, we don't know all the facts yet, so there is no point getting all worked up or inventing conspiracy theories until we know what's happened," Mum said, seeing I was concerned. "But Alan, we all saw the guy. So it's not like we never had contact with him, right?" Cody added. Dad shook his head. "Cody, I w
  4. Some days when I looked at Cody, it was all I could do not to run up to him and sink my teeth into him; he was so attractive. Down at the beach today was one of those instances, as he ran down the grassy hill onto the sand, stripping off his t-shirt. Standing there looking back at me, he had a mischievous look on his face. "Coming in, or do I have to drag you in?" "Naa, you go for it. I'll lay out the towels and come join you in a bit." "Suit yourself," he replied, smiling before
  5. It was approaching a sombre day as I lay in my bed, the twilight hours starting to give way to faint light outside. It was almost a year since Ethen died, or should I say my world ended. Life had never been the same since. As much as I willed myself to get back to some normality, I couldn't shake that hole in my life that refused to be filled. I turned over onto my back and let my head drop to the side, seeing the silhouette of Cody sleeping soundly just next to me. I wondered what we were
  6. A wind was picking up, and it was late morning in the small patch of desert where Jake, his family and friends lived. Jake stared out of his window, motionless, watching as the dust began to fill the air, almost as if it was a morbid substance, coming to hang over where they all resided. Ethen was gone. It was real, no dream, no joke. Jake felt the silence, imagined the memories and smelt the air. The same air they had both smelled, laughing, joking together. It should have been foreve
  7. Ethen lay there, wearing a shocked look. "What?" asked Jake, frowning? "You just said the L word; it just shocked me, that's all." "Was it wrong because I do, you know, love you, I mean." "Aww, no Jake, of course, it's not wrong, it's just… no one has ever told me they love me before. Actually, that's wrong. I mean my family obviously, but…." "Yeah, I get it, Ethen," Jake chuckled. "When I spoke to my mum about how I feel, she said there is never a right time to tell someone
  8. Ethen appeared in his bedroom to find a very asleep Jake, his coffee cup still almost full. So much for a night of passion, he thought, scratching his neck. But, whilst he thought seeing Jake smashed had an appealing aspect to it, he couldn't help a touch of resentment enter his mind that Jake's actions had been a little selfish. Ethen was horny and had been looking forward to spending some intimate time with Jake. It was due to be the first sex he had got since changing his ways, and he'd
  9. The weekend was approaching, and it was unusually warm for the time of year. Jake had just gotten home from school and found the house empty. He walked to his room, pushed back the curtains, and opened the window, a warm afternoon breeze drifting in, filling the room with a fresh smell. He leaned out, the swing chair below catching his eye in the backyard. Cody was sitting in it, alone, a half-filled glass of orange juice in his hand. "Hey, Code," he called from the window, smiling. "W
  10. "Jake….Jake?" the sound of muffled giggles getting clearer, Jake felt his body sway. "Jake?" "What, Ethen?" he barked, coming round, his eyes still closed. "Hey, no need to snap at me; you were asleep," Ethen said as Jake snapped open his eyes. "Yeah, Jake, and since this is your room, that makes me and Ethen your guests, and you the host, and it's not good for the host to fall asleep on the guests." Cody laughed. "What the hell are you talking about?" retorted Jake, still di
  11. I think there were a few Diet Coke adverts with some buff hunk. Thanks for the comments
  12. Cody followed Jake into the kitchen and watched as he went to the refrigerator and pulled out a can of Coke. "Didn't think you were supposed to have that," Cody said sheepishly. Jake slammed the fridge door and marched over to the island counter. He banged the unopened Coke can down on it, making Cody flinch. "What the hell was all that about?" Jake hissed, glaring at Cody. "What do you mean?" "Don't give me that, outside, you barely gave him the time of day, and he was doing
  13. It was lunchtime at Jake's school, and he was patiently waiting in the lunch line. Finally, he was nearing his turn to take a tray. The closest table to him was at least providing some entertainment as he listened to a girl scolding what was obviously her boyfriend for speaking to another girl. But, unfortunately, he was pulled from his fun by the vibration his phone was making in his pocket. Pulling the device from his tight jeans, he looked at the screen. It was Ethen. Shit, he must know.
  14. Weinerdog, you comments made me laugh out loud! ove it! Many thanks
  15. "That one you get for free, Jake," Jenny said sternly. "I'm sorry. I just… I mean, how, why? Oh my God, I mean… oh...my...God." Jake went over and flung his arms around Cody, the sudden excitement taking over his functions, but pulled away quickly as the question of what he was doing there took over. Jake studied Cody's face for a moment, unable to form any words. Cody just said what he knew Jake was getting round to ask. "It's a long story," he sighed, smiling. Jenny walked over and p
  16. Getting to the terminal at Fenchurch Street was the easy part, Cody thought, as he stepped off the train, dazed and still shaking from the reality of his situation. As he made his way to the ticket barrier, he saw a sizeable underground map in the distance. Putting his ticket through the slot, the flaps opened, and he quickly made his way over to it. "Can I help you, at all?" asked a man wearing a train company uniform. "You look kind of lost," he added. "I guess I will be when I leave
  17. It was 8am, and Jake was at the breakfast table with his parents, crunching his way through a bowl of cereal, the sharp winter sun piercing the kitchen windows, creating a yellow hue in the room. His mother was on her iPad, on some fitness site. "I'm thinking of getting a treadmill," she remarked out of the blue, breaking the silence. Jake looked up and creased his head. Alan just moved his eyes upwards, glancing at her before lowering them again. "I'm serious," she added when no one spoke.

He's not technically in the Army, he just helps out at the base doing odd jobs. If we assume that his father is quite high up in the intelligence department on the base then his son would be allowed to do what his father permits. With dropping out of school, we don't know the reasons why, or if his father even knows. Everything is under assumption at the moment. Thanks for the comments CincyKris, Appreciate your feedback.
  19. Nevada, US, 10:48am Local Time 4 days after arrival "We're getting there," Alan said to Jake, wiping his brow. He had just finished putting together Jake's new bed. Since the room was so much bigger, Jake had asked if he could have a double. Sure enough, it had arrived along with most of the other bedroom furniture the previous day. "You want a cold drink, Dad?" Jake asked as he finished setting up his computer on the 'also new' desk. "That would be swell, son, thanks." J
  20. En route to the airport. 10.44am The Stevens family arrived at Gatwick airport around twenty minutes after leaving their house for the last time. As Alan pulled the car into a slot, he pulled out his mobile phone. Turning the engine off. Dialing a number, he waited, and after two rings, a young man answered. "Jerry's Auto Exchange, Lee speaking, how can I help?" "Eh, yeah, hi, this is Alan Stevens; I called you yesterday about the car. "Oh yeah, I remember; so, it's at
  21. A tear, dropping from Jake's face onto the letter he clutched, hammered home the reality – Cody was gone, he was moving, and this was real! Falling in to his chair, placing the letter down, he sobbed, too scared to read, but too eager for answers. Taking a deep breath, his stinging eyes found the first words…. Dear Jake, Pulling away, he attempted to compose himself before continuing, his heart beating fast, palms sweaty. Was this what it was like to experience loss, he thought. Lettin
  22. Jake was wrapped up in his bed under the blankets, watching something nondescript on TV, thinking, as usual, about Cody. Their 'relationship', if you could call it that, had not really developed into anything substantial; at least that's the way Jake felt about it. Each time he approached Cody on the subject, he seemed indifferent and even cold at times. Jake himself was not helping matters when he kept brushing away Cody's attempts to discuss the future, like if they actually planned to stay in
  23. As Alan, Jenny, and Cody stood outside Jake's ward, Cody looked at Jenny nervously. In fact, nervously was a tremendous understatement. From Jenny's point of view, the look in Cody's eyes suggested he had just been told the world was ending, and this was his 4-minute warning. "Alan, why don't you go in and see Jake. I need to have a word with Cody, and I don't want Jake to think we have left him," Jenny suggested, giving her husband a reassuring squeeze on his arm. Alan looked at his w
  24. Yeah, that's been spotted and fixed. Apologies.
  25. Cody was still by the pillbox, the sun now dipping below the horizon, scattering long shadows across the open fields. He'd been there for hours. The stillness, peaceful and empty, gave way to loneliness and regret, chilling him as much as the icy breeze that cut into him. It was apparent – Jake had long since gone. "Forgive me mate," he uttered, kicking a small stone into the brush, watching it bounce a few times. It was an act he felt was not so unlike what he had done to Jake. He pushed o
