  1. Loved you analogy with the picture. In my mind she is one of those rather tubby dinner ladies with the cloth apron on always telling anyone off she can. Brown curly hair. Probably well out of fashion by now. And flat black shoes. LOL I dunno where I've made her up from. Perhaps TV or mu old school. Some good points made as usual Doc! Thanks James
  2. Monday 6:47pm - Luke I'd got home around five feeling hot and sweaty but in a good mood as I'd be seeing Leander tonight. So I guess you could call this our first arranged meet-up? I didn't think I'd be saying that after it nearly went so wrong—all my fault, of course. I chucked my dirty washing into the basket in my room and sat on my bed for a while to absorb the day. I quickly drifted into a trance as my eyes flicked from open to shut. The truth was I was exhausted. The last
  3. I love you vivid mind and almost clairvoyant look into things. Let's face it, it could br crash and burn or their LHEA scenario.
  4. Who's Alexander? 😂. I'm teasing. I know who you meant.
  5. Monday 8.12am - Leander Hey, I was born Leander Scott Sheperd, now better known as Bear. It's my pleasure to introduce myself to you. I am eighteen years old, and I am the second youngest of seven children. I guess I should start with how I came to be? Or maybe memories. Okay, let's do memories. You don't really need to know how or where I was conceived. By the way, I have been told it was in the Candyfloss Cabin. Okay, I'm ending it there! My first memory is that of my mothe
  6. Yeah, that chapter ended up being a lot longer than I had originally planned. I thought about breaking it into two but glad I didn't, I wanted to get across the rawness of their feelings, especially Luke's. Yes you were almost right on everything haha. Sometimes I think you can read my mind. Either that or my yarns are predictable
  7. Sunday 11:07pm - Luke I sped into the fair's parking area, coming to a wheel-locking stop. Dust flew up beside my car, and I got out with a cough, clearing grit from my eyes as I ran towards the fair entrance. "One ticket, please," I said quickly, tapping my foot on the decking floor and darting my eyes all around the entrance, thinking perhaps Leander would appear. "You realise there is only about an hour left, and we close?" I was looking through the gate, trying to
  8. Just this second finished Chapter 15. The schedule is starting to catch me up. Eeeeek!
  9. I've used Czech bud in the story, because I love the stuff. But it is quite hard to get hold of it. Our bigger Supermarkets don't tend to sell it. You'll usually find it stocked at an Aldi or Lidl (if you have those in the States) PS. I always end up learning so much American culture when I read the comments to my stories. More than I ever did in school hahaha.
  10. Thank you, Boylove. Erm, a stone. Hmm, the word comes so naturally to me I guess. Never really thought to question it. But yes in "Brit" speak it could be classed as gravel. Although we would think of gravel as sharp pieces of odd shaped stones. hahaha. So our stone is a rounded piece of gravel I guess. But due to the stupidity of our language It also means a very hard surface don't it? It also comes from a saying (not connected to Luke's metaphor) that "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones" So yeah, Boylove. Just translate each stone to rock and it will mean the same
  11. It's not the message Luke was expecting, that much is sure, but Josh? Hmm, lol. Okay so the Czech claim to have invented and trademarked the name Budweiser and so have intensely claimed that American Bud... the bud we all know, is not the real stuff. It's an ancient war that will never have a resolution. The Company even goes so far to put on each box "Owned by the Czech Republic." That's how strongly they feel about it. A little trivia there. It's probably boring but you can read more into the saga here... Budweiser Wars
  12. Sunday 12:41pm - Luke Taz was standing behind my chair, massaging my shoulders while I ranted on about Elaine. I finally came to a stop when Lee walked into the back yard. "He stressed again?" Lee asked, obviously talking to Taz. "I am here, you know," I said in a sulky tone. "And yeah, I am stressed. That fucking Witch has made it sound like I am going nuts. I know what I know." Lee took two paces back from me, holding up his hands. "Whoa, steady, I have no clue what you ar
  13. You're so right. Although Luke's Dad is obviously a nice bloke, I think he's a bit ignorant of Luke's feelings due to the fact he's probably falling in love himself. We know from experience how other things in life get pushed aside when you're in that cycle.
  14. Fuck that made me laugh. I forgot how explosive those two items are together. #havetowatchyoutubeagain
  15. I'm inclined to agree with you on this Thanks for the comments.
  16. It's a bit much I think, but did Luke overreact? Maybe. I think they just clash, big time. Even I don't know how this will play out
  17. Oh my God, I almost feel famous. Thank you for taking the time out to join and message about the story... well all of them. This is quite honestly the most moving set of comments I think I have ever had. I know everyone has busy lives and some people pop on and read and the authors never know who their readers are, so to see I have another fan is amazing and I am really humbled. Hope the weather is nice In Costa Rica... I'm sure it is James
  18. Sunday 9:01am - Luke "Wakey wakey sleepy head," I said, sitting on the edge of Taz's bed. "Santa has been." "Oh shut up, it's early," came a groggy reply. "It's nine o'clock." "Yeah, on a Sunday!" Taz was never one for being an early riser or a good one. I said he was lucky that his Mother still brought him coffee in bed most mornings to help him wake up. The only time my Dad came to my room early in the morning was to borrow razors. "Get up, it's a beautif
  19. Thanks so much for the kind comments Pax, I'm really glad you found the newer title to read if you read the rest. Puts a little more meat on the bone for the characters. Who will be the older dog? You mean Puppy still? If you liked Puppy for Sale, I think Mind and Punishment might be up your street too. It's a good old fashioned Love story with a dash of drama, a hint of mystery and lashings of romance
  20. This Picture is actually quite calming on the mind. Your point is brilliant, but your picture greater still. Nice choice!
  21. As I drove towards Macky park, my anxiety levels were creeping up. I kept having urges to rip the steering wheel and drive into a ditch. An irrational thought, but most of the time, when I'm feeling like this, rarely does anything make sense. Let me tell you, I'm super excited and nervous all in one. This vast range of emotions never happened when I was younger, and I've had to deal with loads coming on in a very short time. I always seem to associate the anxiety with death too. It's like m
  22. Thank you so much for all your really beautiful comments so far folks, I really really do appreciate the warm buzz I get when I receive the feedback. Loving hearing about the parts you like especially, and the banter as usual. This story didn't even exist in my head until a few weeks ago, so i'm glad it's going down well with you all. Please by all means be critical too if you think it's constructive. I relish all feedback on all my work. I have just queued up chapter 13 and writing 14 tonight, so there is plenty more to come James
  23. I've dramatised it a little, but that scene actually played out in real life!
  24. I think you have those points right on the nail. Thanks for the comments Vblew
  25. Thanks Ricci, Great to hear you're enjoying the Storyline.
