    Glad you fell for it like the protagonist. I often think that everyone can see through my deceptions, so it's nice when it doesn't happen (or at least not too quickly). I think everyone would like a sly roommate like Tyler. Ugh, it would make life a whole lot better, to be honest.

    It's an American thing in college sports. A redshirt freshman is someone who technically on the team but doesn't play. It's used mostly in football to keep the team at a full roster, even with injuries or dropouts. I intended to do better editing, but the formatting from Nifty to here was a nightmare. Eventually, I found the original draft, but I was too tired to properly edit. I forgot there was a good deal of humor despite the darker beginning. Btw, Steve was one of the guys who dropped Tyler off at the door, and Tyler was thr guy Steve sorted out his own sexuality with.

    Hmm, I should've been more clear on how Calvin dresses. He's usually doesn't care what he wears, and usually just wears old jeans and a t-shirts. The real Calvin has a very high opinion of himself (undeservedly), so he doesn't think he needs to try, going so far as to rarely shower unless told to. I think I was trying to give fiction Calvin more credit. As for motivation, again, the real Calvin just assumes people will just take him at his word, so he doesn't really try, which will make cross a little interesting.

    I had to convince the real Calvin to wear a suit instead of ratty jeans and a t-shirt for a custody hearing. Some people just don't get it, and yes, you can pour bleach on shit, but that doesn't make it edible. Billy will be calling Bryan and Caleb to testify. How soon, I'm still not sure. I have to remember his witness list, since Diego also has to testify, along with a couple more supporting witnesses. Had Clarke not gone down the road of character assassination, the hearings would've been much shorter.

    Well, I average about 6 typed pages per chapters at 1/2" margins and currently on page 306, but there was a lot to unpack (apparently), and courtroom scenes aren't exactly thrilling (hence Trump falling asleep during his own criminal trial, which most lawyers will tell you is understandable). I don't know how much more there will be, but given I've written 7 more chapters(?) and I'm still not done, I think we'll be good for a few more months yet.
