Hmm, I should've been more clear on how Calvin dresses. He's usually doesn't care what he wears, and usually just wears old jeans and a t-shirts. The real Calvin has a very high opinion of himself (undeservedly), so he doesn't think he needs to try, going so far as to rarely shower unless told to. I think I was trying to give fiction Calvin more credit. As for motivation, again, the real Calvin just assumes people will just take him at his word, so he doesn't really try, which will make cross a little interesting.
