I think I largely do that, but it's the stuff I do know that's the boring stuff.

I would love to pawn them off to someone who actually likes writing all that boring shit. I'd love nothing more than to pretend like I don't know what a leading question is, what constitutes a hostile witness and how to handle them, etc. It would make all this so much faster to get through, but I'm dedicated to being as accurate to my limited knowledge as I can.

When I wrote that, I more assumed that Billy was just making a flippant insult, accusing the judge of having Freudian Issues; however, I like your assumption better, but I would see it more of Billy bitching and Trevor making an off-handed remark about small penises and over compensating, which Billy ran with. As for Caleb, I'm he'll have his own opportunity to crash with the dads.

Agreed, a light chapter was required; John Grisham I am not. I think Bryan opening up is a natural part of his progression as a character, especially with Steve, and it felt right to do it in this chapter and in this way.

I felt short and sweet was needed. The courtroom scenes are draining on me, so these little breaks help. As for the suits, that'll be done in the background.

Diego did his best to not slam things around as he made dinner. He loved his fiancé just as much as he loved his sons, so it was difficult for him to talk to Steve about the bullshit Billy pulled in court. Steve, Billy and Ry had been friends since they were about Caleb's age, and though they fell out of touch for several years, the three were really close since reconnecting. I think everyone is reading into Liam's comment way too much. To me, Liam was just confirming he's gay and using Mike's statement to make his point. Even if Liam is heteroflexible, bisexual, pansexual, etc., it doesn't really matter. What matters is that Liam and Mike are together. I get the fear that Liam won't be out to everyone, but there isn't any proof of it. In fact, Mike's comment about sending Olivia the emoji suggests that they were talking about Liam, which confirms that she knows Liam was into Mike (as if we hadn't already figured it out.)

This was a great surprise to wake up to after a rough nights sleep. Again, I love how Liam is with Mike. He's being sweet and caring, even when Mike is panicking or getting things wrong. As for his behavior towards his parents, though, it is typical teenage behavior, but it makes me wounder what else is going on. He went from being best friends with the twins to disliking them. Their reactions when he joined them for video games last chapter also seemed odd, like they were hesitantly shocked that he was even there; of course, I could've been reading into more than what was there, but it seemed like they weren't sure what his motives were at the time, though they did end up seeming happy later on. I can't wait to read the next chapter (of course), and I'm good with short chapters, as well, but will never complain about the longer ones. This is too good of a story to fuss over chapter length; besides, it isn't about the length of the chapter, it's about the girth of the content. Girth over length, gentlemen, girth over length.
