There are some lines you can safely have one foot on either side and nothing happens, and there are lines where just the tip of the big toe is too much. Like Violet said in the very first story: a bit of a lost big teddy bear. You can count on his loyalty. The ground owned by Dust and his uncles are ~5 acre, the direct neighbours George and Michael each have around 2,5 and Bridget has around 10 acres. There's another plot where another family lives, also ~ 5 acres. Lived-on Parker land is therefore 25 acres, but there is more than double of that untouched forest and a part is rented out pasture/orchard. The military ground and tavern are/were real, though rumor has it the tavern closed because drunk soldiers shot a little boy (back in the 70s already). It was a tank division stationed there and the forest looks like that, full of wide paths for the tanks and holes for them to train hiding (sooooo many little ponds now). The monastery and tower don't exist, though. Regarding a search there... wait and see for the next chapters

In this society, women are encouraged to have children early on and many of them. They have a good support system, including early day-care for children. Flavius' mother had her own father as strongest/closest support and wasn't prepared to take care of her son after her father died. He was thirteen, there would have been options like job-preparing classes and the like, she could have simply sold him, but she was too deep engrossed in her own life. We will hear more about Remy's dream, triggered by seeing Gabrielle Sinclair. She and the case of Leona Asquith were mentioned already in Dante's story and the topic will come up again, and we will hear was Remy knows. (Not to mention this is the connecting point to the timeline-wise next story in this universe.)
