  1. ~The Lawyer~ After only a few months, I still didn't really know my way around Quincefield, but Grandpa had said at lunch the Bells lived in a good neighborhood. However, looking at the wild mix of freshly renovated and shabby facades of the tall apartment buildings in this street, I couldn't agree with him. The house where the Bells had their apartment was a dreary beige, but the balconies facing the street were decorated with a brightly colored mosaic pattern. The buildi

  3. The annoying sound of the mixer faded, but in Dante's ears it continued to hum. "-and as we do every time at the end of the year, we have summarized all the changes that will take effect on 1st Gianna 30-72 on our website. Yesterday we already talked about the price increases in public transportation, today we're dealing with the changes for all the museums in the country. As stated some time ago-" "Great Mother, do we seriously have to listen to these pseudo-political discussions?" TJ

  6. ~The Detective~ A satisfied smile crept onto my lips as I closed the case file, stuck a “Case Closed” post-it note on it, and set it aside to take to Staff Sergeant Winter later. Harry wiped the notes from that very case off the whiteboard, his movements almost meditative, as if he wanted to put away the mental file at the same time. At least until we had to testify about the case in court. The thought made my smile disappear. “What about our statements for the Peterson case?
  7. Kate Bell got reported missing. While Violet and Dust try to find the young witch, Nathan gets hired by the parents to "control the narrative". The Bell family is old politic - and full of drama, scandal and more? Or is something brewing within the secretive coven? Well, that the non-existent bell in the old Monk Tower starts ringing surely looks like a bad omen...

Something that always seems to come strong in my stories (or at especially in this univers) is duty. Duty and Family. And out of this sense, Alice would go with him, before others - like her mother - start to put pressure on her. Matthew loves her, since many years, and neglected his duty towards his family because of this. Sarah wants mostly her best friend/old crush to be happy and does not care that much if marrying him would make Alice happy. Love is traditionally not an important thing in this society, not even here in the north, were traditions are a bit different. But you are right, the probability that both Alice and Matthew end up happy in this is not exactly high...

    Sarah

She loved the winter. The air, the light, the sounds - everything was different, more beautiful, clearer. Sebastian seemed to feel it, too, because after a little crying fit, he was now quite calm, sucking peacefully on his pacifier and gurgling softly now and then. Or, quite pragmatically, maybe it was simply the fact that she was carrying him around in a wrap. The snow crunched under her boots, the wood of the porch creaked, and while she was still knocking the snow off her shoes, the doo

Do we need to repeat the part about the bees and the flowers? Because we have two bees here... Though actually, the mix of dragon and unicorn could either be incredibly good or terrifying. Like, a unicorn covered in scales spitting fireballs? Or a huge fluffy dragon with an impressive mane?

    30: Finley

Finley has the will to be honest, communicating is just not his forte. Emmett on the other hands needs to be more open and trusting and listening to his feelings. I have honestly not thought that much about how interspecies breeding works in this world. But, do we need to think about it? Those are two boys and I absolute hate mpreg, so that's not an option.

A doorless passageway led from the large main room into a kind of hallway with four doors leading off it. One of them—the first on the left—was slightly open, so I took a look inside first. Sure enough, it was the bathroom. The first things that caught my eye were the toilet, sink, and shower tray in dark pine green. The fixtures shimmered in a golden hue, and I was briefly confused because even the shower seemed to be covered in wood, until I realized it was simply wood-effect tiles. Sin

You mean like the Horners selling the farm? That will come up in a way later as well...

    Alice

That plus giving in to the pressure of some other people. (Though more on that one later...) Whether she could save the farm with her earnings from writing? Doubtful, honestly. Alice is not one to put herself in the middle of attention, definitely not. The position within the family she has right now is perfect: no one cares what she does, because she is neither heir nor spare. On the other hand, of course, this puts her in the perfect position to be "married off", which is somewhat expected of her to follow through with. But she doesn't want to be matriarch. Maggie became the Horner Matriarch, because there is no other woman, but normally the first requirement to be one is to be a mother, best of a daughter. So if Alice and Matthew marry, Maggie will stay matriarch till the two have a kid. And even than she could fight giving up the position if it's a boy, because Alice is not a born Horner.

    Alice

Alice slid out of bed and shivered. From a doctor's point of view, the cool temperatures in the house might be ideal for sleeping, but it was too cold to live comfortably. She slipped on thick socks over the pair she was already wearing, pulled on a sweater over the heavy flanell pajamas and shivered again. At the door, she paused briefly and looked back at the bed - Maggie was asleep, breathing deeply and calmly - before stepping out into the hallway. The house was dark and quiet, asleep like

  17. There are a lot of things Dante never had the chance/opportunity or reason to think about. Some of which become "important" now, some maybe later. But given the situation, yes, he should think about some stuff. Puberty is never linear and his special development will definitley not be linear either. I especially love this second sentence of yours, so true and important. Dante is a slave and and there is at least for me a big question mark behind the "does Frank fully understand the "master"/slave situation". And given how he said a while back Dante reminds him of his lost brother... I am not sure if there is someone around, who could give Henry in this overall situation fully what he needs. Dante is emotionally close to him, he's a safe person, but he doesn't have answers. And the people who would have answers are not close enough to ask those kind of questions... My notes are not exactly precise for that period to be honest (frustrating, how could I), but it should be 10 or 11 days between sex in Denser's Port and the last scene with Frank now. (The next chapter would be the 30th of December, Sarah's birthday.)
  18. Either Dante and Frank were late or the work slaves were early, or both, because as they left the house for the afternoon shift, a discussion sounded behind them moments later. "You can't leave that stuff standing around dirty," he heard Kellen say. "Sorry about having to take care of the stupid horses since TJ's too good to do it," Liam grumbled, half drowned out by Sawyer's protest, "It's not the horses' fault." "Why don't you shut up, Sawyer, that would help all of us," To

Could Emmett live with that guilt? Good question. He's so used to have to protect himself and be the center of (unwanted) attention, that his "I didn't want any of this" might be stronger than such guilt. I like your pointer to Ben&Mo, cause you can use everyone, even if it's just as bad example. And in the case of a meltdown even Mo talking to him might make sense, though Mo is far away and has no love for either Emmett or Finley, still "don't make the same mistake" or something like that he would be capable of. I guess. I hope. ❤️ Love you for that, I do.

In this one not, I'm afraid, though I found quite some different versions, even like everytime they heal someone, they give part of their life(time). ❤️ Working on it!

    29: Finley

Sounds pretty accurate. Plus some peach trees in the old orchard... Next to hoping that Finley can reign in his instincs - and shut up the dragon when needed - we need to hope that Emmett is not going in full blown drama queen mode a la "you never asked me to be part of your hoard" "sorry babe, I wasn't asked either". Because when that happens, our plush dragon might find himself minus one boyfriend...

    29: Finley

My last conversation with Uther—after my enlightening date with Emmett—had left a sour taste that refused to go away. He thought I shouldn't tell Emmett that he was part of my hoard, because the unpleasant part of that fact would only come to light once Emmett died and it no longer mattered to him. But I didn't want to be dishonest. I wasn't sure whether unicorns could sense lies or not, but this wasn't a trivial matter. In a relationship, you should be honest, especially since my hoard w

"But it's common knowledge that it's not asparagus season now." Cain grunted in annoyance. "Halibut with tomato lime salsa." "Hmm." "Honestly, I'm running out of id
