    Chapter 6

I don't think Thokk ever thought he might one day do something like this. Thokk will be in a great position for a lot of things, that for sure.
  2. With his face buried in his hands, Thokk sat in the library. The artificially dry air scratched in his throat; someone’s quill scratched across paper; and somewhere nearby, though out of sight, two people were whispering to each other. He couldn’t find a solution. His final exams were coming up in a few weeks, and he couldn’t estimate the likelihood that he’d remain under Gash’s authority for a few more years. It would be perfectly normal if that were the case, and then he’d be hardly
  3. "If you want to rule a country, you must know it. Look at the map and tell me what you notice." "Hmm. Darkmoore is almost square." "Right. What else?" "Darkmoore is pretty big." "Right. I don't have the numbers in mind, but after Rockvalley, it's the largest of the Eastern Kingdoms." "Even bigger than Whitehill?" Surprised, Romy looked at Sam who nodded. They were standing in front of a huge map of the Eastern Kingdoms, painted on the wall of one of the libraries. "

    Chapter 5

I would say we're getting there. I didn't want it to be that much of a surprise, only for Thokk, who's a tad blind on that stuff Wait and see. I promise we see Korgar again. That's a truly interesting question, something we can't know as of now. We saw some sort of interest, but whether this is about the orcish things or just the unknown or indeed Thokk himself... we don't know.
  5. Frustrated and annoyed, Thokk sat at the table, listlessly pushing the food on his plate back and forth. Thick, meaty mushrooms cooked in their own juices, purple bitter spinach, and fresh, salty water beans were actually quite a delicacy, and he didn’t want to seem ungrateful to Khartikk, who had brought the meal from the food stalls—obviously one of the better ones—but ever since Thokk had returned from his journey and spoken with Gash, Gash had been telling everyone about Thokk’s studies.

Let's hope they take his approach seriously first of all...

    Chapter 4

He's most of all curious. I guess he knew his grandmother was a rose, but never really thought about/realized what that implied. Absolutely this. ❤️ I spent so much time on research about genetics and radiation to put a proper "realistic" scientific background to this world's lore, it's insane 😅
  8. Thokk hated the surface, and late summer was, in a way, even worse than spring. The dry heat was taking its toll on his skin, which had once again taken on that sickly gray-green hue and was constantly itchy and tight; his lips had become chapped and were constantly sticking to his tusks. Everywhere, there were suddenly insects buzzing about. And the humans—may the Old Mother have mercy—they stank. The stench of sour sweat, musty, damp clothing, and heated filth seemed to cling even to the small

  10. "Shields suck." "Shields can save your life." "With a two-handed, I've got a bigger range, so fuck you." "I quote: such a sword arm is faster off than you think. And you can also attach a shield to your arm stump." "Fuck you." "Shield up." "Sam's right, you know, Owen?" Franz interfered when Owen reluctantly lifted the shield because Sam at the same time put the heavy two-handed sword in attack position. "As if you were the most competent here to judge." Henry
  11. "Do you know how to do a woman's hair?" Without opening his eyes, Sam frowned. "That's a pretty strange question." "No, it isn't," Romy gave back pointedly. "Why are you asking me anyway?" "Because Jonas has his day off and today witches traditionally don't use magic." "He has his day off just when you're completely helpless without your magic?" Sam opened his eyes just in time to see Romy take a bowl of cold water and pour it out over his head. "Wah!" He shook himself.

    Kiss and Silk II

He will stay an issue for another while, I'm afraid... Yeah, why not? 😅 Don't think Remy could handle as much. Wait and see I don't think you can cure morning grouches with medication but maybe worth a try? On that note, maybe we could put something in Anduin's coffee so he's not bothering anyone during the day...

❤️ There will be "consequences" later on How can you not be honest with her? She's amazing. (Remarkable for a character I only created because I thought this world needs more lesbians^^) Be careful with that little seedling of hope.

Cain was standing at the stove, of course, though his posture clearly showed he was in pain. After yesterday’s argument, Remy hadn’t expected Cain to withdraw, but the grumbled “Morning” already spoke volumes. “Morning,” he replied, his voice a little flat. Marc, who was standing by the coffee maker, just grunted. The morning grouch must have slept poorly if he was here this early, which didn’t surprise Remy either. The sour look he got, on the other hand, did. “Morning.” Flavi
  16. Sam couldn't believe it. He just managed to swallow the very stupid question "what are you doing here?", instead he asked: "Shouldn't you be on the other side of the Ionian Mountains making some princess happy?" "Well, you know," Franz started, wearing chain mail and holding a bow in his hand, "they sent a dragon as escort, but apparently he had some orientation problems regarding the east-west axis and probably thought at the end that princess would remain princess. Whether I make her happ
  17. "The healer's here." Sam stopped as if rooted in the door between the bedroom and the main room. "Was about time." He didn't see Jonas or Romy, but he also didn't want to. A chair scraped across the floor. "Be so good and help him to make himself comfortable. And let me know when he's ready." Romy was always remarkably friendly towards Jonas, which made her cool composure towards Sam seem a bit colder. "Of course." Judging by the steps, Jonas left the apartment and

    Frank

Sebastian might not have known what he said, but he is indeed an asshole with a cruel streak. Runs in the family I was told. So true... Frank admitted to the accident in front of Dante, Tom and Sawyer; he told his parents. Blaise most likely told Britney, that would explain the Franklin-middle name and her wish for Frank to raise Cole. Or at least it's a better explanation than "Frank was the name of both my grandfathers".

    Frank

The Flynn situation finally came to an emotional end, at least for Frank.

    Frank

Cole had vanished. And considering how huge the compound was, you didn't immediately took that word in your mouth. But the boy hadn't shown up for lunch nor dinner, and by now Sebastian had meekly confessed that they'd had a fight. Frank pinched the root of his nose and thought. They were all looking for him, except Henry, who was watching the other kids. Huck had not been very useful as a sniffer dog, because of course the boy's scent was everywhere, and now that the sun was almost complet
  21. I wrote this 7 years ago as reaction to the mentioned webseries, which was also starting as playing with/reversing tropes and cliches (before it turned into something serious and huge). This story and world was my first big project (before the slave-universe). This here was meant to play with fantasy tropes and cliches as such, such as "prince/knight/hero has to save damsel in distress", "evil witches", "invincible knights/heroes" etc, directly answering to some of the story lines of this webseries. But as you can see, I can't really do lighthearted, as much as I wanted it, though I guess from the outside (as normal reader I mean) this looks even worse than it is. That being said: I know this is not a masterpiece, I'm trying to fix some of the old writing-without-plan-holes, but I'm not mad if you (or anyone else) doesn't want to continue to read. No one is forced to.
  22. You know how the saying goes: it will get worse before it gets better.
  23. Romy's living room/dining room/study combination was larger than the corresponding room in Sam's apartment, much larger. Romy herself rose from the dining table as Jonas shoved Sam through the door and wiped a few crumbs off her vest. "Thank you, Jonas." Jonas bowed silently and left, while Sam felt very uncomfortable in the middle of the magnificent room in his extremely simple clothes. Again he was examined by Romy, this time in daylight, which almost lavishly fell through the high w
  24. Sounds like a good theory, puts the things together nicely. Let's wait and see. Tea, coffee in the meantime?
