Marc would need lots of time or some significant events to help him there. This story is the most tragic of this whole slavery-universe I made and Remy is by far the most tragic character I ever created, I think. I love him so much ❤️

Marc stared into the mirror, staring at the scars, wishing they weren't there. The whip scars on his back were one thing, they were signs of a deserved punishment for what he had done, and yet not enough. But the other three... His fingers slid over the scar that ran across his right collarbone. He could feel the nick the attacker's knife had left in the bone. The guy had wanted to kill him and he had turned the tables on him. The scar just below the heart was bulging and felt as ugly

Different Layers of Social Interactions

You are right with your whole comment on so many levels. Keep your eyes open for hints on how this might progress -
With Daniel taking care of the kids and Flynn out of action, Dante had no choice but to stay inside and prepare the large dining room with TJ and Mikey while Seth and Henry worked in the kitchen. It didn't bother him much, because without Frank in close proximity, he could better reflect on last night. Not that it would have done much good... "Have you actually met my ma?" Mikey broke through Dante's circling thoughts and he looked up. "I think we passed each other a few times..." He c

Tuesday, April 1, 2025 – Brothers
Celian commented on Celian's story chapter in Tuesday, April 1, 2025 – Brothers
I'm not spoilering anything on Quen. As Dust mentioned towards Kellen, Quen has a genetic disorder. He was diagnosed at 5 and their father said no for a therapy - since both parents needed to agree, he didn't get any. When he turned 18, he organized everything on his own (supported by Dust and Uncle Carl as much as he would let them). So yes, as it's hinted at, he didn't develop physically normal and the late therapy didn't help in all aspects. The brothers have their ups and downs. Quen can't always put down his aggressive macho persona he created to protect himself, so he hurts unintentionally Dust, and Dust ended up as a somewhat parenting role for Quen, although Quen was already 17 when their mom died. -
~The Cursebreaker~ The jail officer pushed open the security door, glanced into the room, and then nodded to me. “Go ahead, you know the rules.” I nodded back and entered the small visiting room of Ashen Ward Jail. Quen stood opposite me against the wall, hands on his head, looking both amused and bored. The click of the closing door had not yet faded when his hands fell. “I missed you.” His smile became sincere. “Me too.” Actually, visitors and inmates weren’t a

He wasn't. He was just called as his lawyer -
~The Cursebreaker~ Nathan was nervous. Excitedly nervous, I would say, but since I had only just met him, I wasn't sure. He ran his hand over the shiny paintwork of my Rover and grinned as if he suddenly had plans for his own car. As we left the parking lot, he took an audible breath. “What's this case about?” he wanted to know. “Well, Detective Reynolds didn't put it quite so precisely,” was my first response. “Something about a boy who put cats in trash cans because of a talk

Those two truely don't like each other, have never been friends, but they know that in a farm community with limited numbers of people involved, they might need each other. (As presented as medic and mechanic.)

Ambivalence in which sense? Love-hate-relationship or downright sexual tension? Or something else?

Apart the fact that I agree with your comment this quoted part is something I actually never thought about in further detail 🤔 Probably because they are both straight. But I know who would be the winner of this contest in general so they both lose anyhow 🤷♂️

They are both not the types for (physical) violence. Val could slice and dice with words, but Matthew isn't even good with that either. Yes and no. He wants more in life than just owning/running a farm, that's why he's going for the medical path, but the country life itself is not bothering him. Alice and Val were never a real match to begin with, we hear more on that later on. He has nothing to offer, apart the future title of matriarch (and lots of debt). Yupp. Spoiled brat. But he doesn't pop up more than once or twice in total.

Despite the patio heater next to which he stood, he shivered. The hot cider in the thick clay cup had cooled down unpleasantly in no time, but he took a sip anyway while listening to Tobias. Val's younger brother looked like he could be his twin, except for the slave collar. "Honestly," Tobias concluded, sucking on his cigarette, "it could have gone worse." There weren't many slaves who had the chance to indulge in a nicotine addiction, but with Tobias, few wondered about anything. The boy

That would need time. Time they might not have. The above-chapter linked chapter for Ellen in "Another Time" explains the nature of the swabs Yeah. They might not click in bed, but outside they are a good match...

In the library, Marc leaned against a shelf and rubbed his face. Remy looked at him appraisingly for a moment, then asked softly: "Do you need my help?" Marc's shoulders slumped. "I... Can I ask you for something?" This surprised Remy a little. "Go ahead..." he said with a welcoming gesture and Marc nodded weakly. "Can I... can I use your phone to let my friend know Jay's okay?" "Sure." "And... um... would you... come with me to the temple tomorrow?" Puzzled, R

Painful Doubt, Doubtful Pleasure
Celian commented on Celian's story chapter in Painful Doubt, Doubtful Pleasure
His sentence says he has to, but there can happen a lot in those 18 months... Well. I dare say, in one moment or another, the term is fitting Frank quite well. *sniff* Wait 9 chapters and you get a taste of it. -
Painful Doubt, Doubtful Pleasure
Celian commented on Celian's story chapter in Painful Doubt, Doubtful Pleasure
That's what's making it exciting, isn't it? The story is halfway done and there are still two major bombs to go off with all the consequences to them. And of course Dante still has to meet his parents officially. I can tell you already, their January will be packed. We have to keep in mind that all of this is the first time/new for Dante. Being so included into a household, a family. There might well be expectations playing a role, like him being a personal slave- so he should serve his mistress in the bedroom if she wishes. He likes her, he's attracted, but how much of this is real and not the expectations he has of himself? His wavering when it comes to all the sexual tension between him and Frank- how much of this is real, how much of this is learned "two men shouldn't be together"-stuff? And of course Frank himself, officially mentally troubled. -
Stepping out into the gloomy twilight which prevailed on winter mornings before you could really call it sunrise was like running into a pane of glass and then breathing in the shards. Dante had read those words in Mistress Alice's book, but only now he realized what it really felt like. It was cold. Definitely colder than the last days. It usually took thirty minutes to get at a brisk walk from the Mitchell farmhouse to the Horner farmhouse, but he bet himself he'd be faster. Because, damn it,

Celian commented on Celian's story chapter in Tuesday, March 25, 2025 – A Piece of Cake
Next to "it's the right thing to do" which he truly beliefs in, Dust was raised to help whenever he can. He would never ask for money or the like, but could well be that Nathan sets a "non-negotionable" friendship-discount to his legal services (for Quen or the future) out of gratitute. Fear is a strong motivation and fear of death the more so. He was an unknown, a deathly one... and without support from his family who would fight for him, there is just so much a minor/young adult without any means can do. A teddy bear! A talking teddy bear... ❤️ -
~The Lawyer~ I was speechless. For ten years, I had struggled with my magic, trying to come to terms with the fact that I would never master it and that it would make me a danger to others. And now... there was hope. I doubted I would ever be able to shake hands with an unknown mage without gloves, but not feeling the agonizing inner storm as soon as I was near someone with magic would be a start. The chair in the waiting area wasn't very comfortable, but the memories I had

The woman, who called herself Yessica White and worked as a private investigator, was dressed in such a low-key manner that the word boring initially came to Ellen's mind. However, she had already gotten a glimpse of Yessica's sharp mind at their first meeting. "Good morning, Sister." greeted Yessica with a polite smile. "Good morning.", Ellen returned the greeting and followed right behind, "Would you like some coffee?" "No, thanks, I've already had my morning fix." There was som

First: I have no clue why I got a notification for your comment only know, why I haven's seen and responded, when it's already from December... 🤔 We have a saying, translates into "who never ate cookies in bed doesn't know how much crumbs do pinch". But right you are, she would deserve and more. Flynn is indeed in a tough position, but he makes the lives of everyone involved only more miserable by his behaviour. Dante's try at diplomacy was a good start, but let's see how much that helps. I doubt Tom is that dumb, he might have underestimated Frank, but he's able to draw conclusions and learn. And if word gets out how Frank feels a piece of his brother came back through Dante, that might shift the whole thing anyway. Oh now that would be something though I can't imagine Alice agreeing so such a request, seeing how she doesn't like Tom at all.

Celian commented on Celian's story chapter in Tuesday, March 25, 2025 – A New Friend
Dust will go visiting him soon and after he's out of jail he'll pop up more often. His parents died in the tsumani christmas 2004, he had just turned 7 and was left with the maternal family because of a broken leg (a bully at school pushed him down the stairs, doc said his condition wasn't stable enough for the trip). They raised him thereafter. Not sure when and where more details about that will come up but the Hogwarts joke's on them, cause they can definitley compete against the Dursleys... It's always difficult to explain such stuff without info-dumping, but I'm happy it helped ❤️ -
~The Lawyer~ “Since you're here, Mr. Upfield, may I ask you about my brother?” The cursebreaker broke the silence, and I nodded. “Of course.” I wanted to say more, but Quentin's question and accompanying grin came back to me. I had wanted to mention it, but now that I was sitting across from his big brother and wishing I could be close enough to him to check if he had freckles—Quentin had a lot of unusually dark freckles on his nose and cheekbones—it seemed like a recipe for embarras

Here I thought I am a responsible author for not ridiculing or humiliating poor Mr. Buckley and you want the juicy details? Shame on you. Though I honestly doubt there was much standing at attention. I mean, forcefully rubbing yourself hard under the scrutinizing stare of medical stuff might take a while... And our cursebreaker was quick to intervene. As for the real medical problem? Ejaculat allergy does exist and the 12% is roundabout true, a ladyfriend of mine is suffering from it. Apparentely took an odyssee till diagnosed.
