Thanks for the advice guys! I guess you can never be too careful. So now I get to go respond by suggesting links for teens and telling them thanks without actually encouraging them to read my story. *sigh* They should have a nifty for younger readers. Maybe they do and I just haven't heard of it yet. I'll have to do some research. Thanks again! Smiles, Dom

Okay, so recently I've gotten some feedback from a few readers who obviously ignore disclaimers(which isn't all that uncommon) But, my question is for authors who get feedback from younger readers, who legally shouldnt be in adult sites, is, do you respond? I try to respond to everyone, but when they tell you how old they are(like 12 or 13) I'm not sure if I should respond or not. Some people have told me that it could be considered 'soliciting a minor' even to just say 'thanks.' And for the kids who ask for advice, I feel really bad about not responding. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I guess these days you can't be too careful. If anyone has any advice or an opinion on this matter I'd really appreciate it. Smiles, Dom

I don't know that you'd call some of my phobias normal, but here goes. Needles. Hate them. Blood I'm okay with, but show me a needle and you have to pick me up off the floor. Macaroni noodles. Don't ask. Trains. Won't travel on them. Especially ones that go over steep drops. Flying's okay though. And cows freak me out too. Good luck with your story. Smiles, Dom

Well my rules are a little less thought out than that. I dont really think about commas all that much, but I probably use way more of them than I should. But, as far as dialogue goes I make sure that everyone talking gets their own paragraph. It makes it way less confusing. Also, punctuation should go inside of quotation marks, not outside. Or maybe an option to leave it blank...? It's good to have pride, but the reality is that not everyone is ready to give up their privacy on certain issues. I think it's reasonable if they dont want to tell. But, it's probably like Myr said, maybe some forgot to update their profile. But, I still say if you're curious, ask. Wow, I'm glad you found help when you needed it (even if it was forced on you at first) I think it's sad that there are so many people out there who could use that kind of help and are either too afraid to ask for it or don't know where to find it. But I totally agree, ask for help when you need it, you just might be surprised at who comes through for you at the end, even if a little good advice is all you're offered.

I have to agree with green on this one. even authors have a right to their privacy. sexuality is a personal thing and a sensative subject for some. besides, if someone really wants to know, why not just ask?
