Very sad news. Comsie is, in my opinion, the best author when it comes to my favourite topic(s). I haven't read any of his stories for years now, too busy, but have always been planning to read all of them. So immense thanks to gayauthors for keeping the archive online. I am also willing to buy books with stories by Comsie (I'd prefer that even, over reading from a screen).

After 15 months, there is finally a new chapter of "Singularity": Chapter 9: Survival http://stories.alinoe.com/ About the story Also this chapter contains some erotic scenes, but the emphasis is as usual on the adventures of the two (very handsome) 13 y/o main characters and their mutual 12 y/o friend Kevin as well as their new friends Daniel (13) and River (10). This chapter intro- duces four new boys (ages 11, 12, 13 and 14). For those new to Singularity: It starts of with heavy Science fiction (where Science is with a capital S), and transforms heavily almost every chapter. Although it contains explicit sex scenes (as of chapter 6), it is definitely not a jack off story. In fact, the first five chapters are "introduction" to set the scene. The story is about the plot and the celebration of boyhood. There are two types of readers: those who look at chapter one and never return to the site - and those who read ALL chapters in one long session (currently taking about 5 hours!) (Personally I think one should read a chapter per day, by printing them and reading them in bed before going to sleep, though). This new chapter contains 12590 words, bringing the total number of words on 76201 words! The story is still in progress.

I received this email from Comicality (on the mailinglist) where he says: And that is supposedly here, in "comicality Cafe", but I don't see any discussions here at all-- mostly just new story announcements. Where does all this Comicality-related chat go on? Where are the most active fans of him active? I can't seem to find the thread that Com refered to in his mail here. I've looked so often for this 'forum' of him after he posted about it, and I've never been able to find it

I just read Bill Chase. Started at the beginning. I've read chapters 1 till 48 now, took me two weeks or something; I read a bit every day. I've cried REALLY hard when Jimmy tried to kill himself... but I already had seen it coming for a long time. Billy is pretty stupid here and there (well, mostly). He doesn't seem to see things that are so obvious, and he doesn't want to say anything or react to anything or take a chance, following his heart (but that is normal for Coms stories ). Anyway, I too, think that Billy and Jimmy should start french kissing, and then Jimmy will get all happy again and Billy tells everyone he's gay and in love with Jimmy and they return to school again and all his friends are happy for them and nobody teases Jimmy anymore or Billy and all his friends beat the shit out of them! I think I am starting to understand something ... Let me give an example. First, the wrong way to write it. Davy is 14 years old. He has blond hair, blue eyes and is the only child of his parents. Today, Davy is mad: he was already pestered at school, first, "Dumb blond!" the other kids yelled at him during lunch break, and now things didn't work out at home either! He was trying to put back a book on the bookshelf of his dad, but it was too high. The other books had expanded a bit and now he couldn't put it back anymore. Agreed, he was a little small for his age, only 5'2"-- but right now he felt in particular stupid. Why had he taken out the book before thinking about whether or not he could put it back again? He was sweating now and if he wanted to avoid his dad asking nasty questions, he also was going to need time to take a shower, before it was dinner time! OK, so far. The above *describes* things. It doesn't SHOW anything at all. Therefore, it's a story alright, but the reader cannot BECOME Davy and BE there. Here is an attempt of me to write the same thing, but now in terms that allow a reader to live it through, to experience it. "I am NOT a dumb blond," Davy mumbled to himself, the tip of his tongue between his teeth, stretching his young body as high as he could, standing on his toes. But the book didn't want to be put back where it belonged. He should have thought about it BEFORE he took it from the shelf. It's too damn high! **If only I was a few inches longer,* Davy thought, but the book dropped from his hand again and fell with a bang on the floor. Davy froze, his heart pounding in his ears. Involuntary he looked at the door of the room, his father could enter the room any time now. Maybe the kids at school had been right that day when they pushed him around, shouting, "Dumb blond, Davy is a dumb blond!" Had he been big and strong, like Micheal, instead of his lousy 5'2", then they wouldn't have teased him. Davy picked up the book, to try it again. He started to sweat, his shirt was sticking to his back. Thank God he didn't smell, not at 14 years old, but the salty perspiration on his face was mixing with the dried up dirt in his hair that the kids at school had rubbed into it during lunch break. Even if he could put the book back the next minute, his dad was going to ask what he had been doing, where he had been. "Go to your room and wash that ugly face of yours," he'd yell. Davy's stomach rumbled. No, he wasn't going to miss dinner AGAIN. He was going to make it, this time. Well.. it isn't perfect of course, I just shook it out of my sleeve. But I think the general idea is clear I'd like to propose to exchange some practical things in this forum on this topic as follows: Someone posts a 'telling paragraph' and others then rewrite that paragraph in a way that it gives the same information, but in a form that allows a reader to actually live through it, more then just digest it. I think everyone might learn something by seeing different versions of the same text, written by different authors. Aleric

The story code has been changed from 'tt / no sex' to 'tt / bt', as of chapter 6. This is the last time I add a post to this thread, because I believe that the only appropriate place for new chapters is in the 'Story Announcements' forum, isn't it? It's a bit confusing, some clarification would help me (I know, I'm stupid). Of course, you can also register on my site to get an email. Ok... off to posting the official release now in 'Story announcements'.

First thing I do when I wake up at 1 pm because the neighbors are hammering or playing booming music, is curse them and turn on the radio next to my bed with static noise, so loud that it makes it easy to concentrate on that instead. I also turn on a ventilator that makes contact with my bed, making it rumble, so that I only hear that when I press my ear in the pillow. When I wake up around 4 pm, it's time to get out of bed, and the first thing I do sit behind PC, often even before opening the curtains-- check if I'm still connected to IRC and whether or not anything was said during the 'night' that concerned me, read email... etc. Breakfast comes much later, like 7 pm. I work on my story 'Singularity' every day... On those days that I am really inspired, I can write at MOST 1000 words of new text. All the other days I am editting. Rereading and rewriting sentences, again and again. The result is about one new chapter every 5 weeks, as it turns out (I am only about to release chapter 6 now). Of course, it depends a lot on the size of a chapter how often a new one will be released. So, lets talk about words per month. One chapter of me is about 7000 words (all of them are over 6000, the last one is even over 10000 words). Ok, lets take the average: I have now chapters with an average of 43000/6 = 7166 words per chapter. Assuming a release every 5 weeks, that comes down to 5700 words per month. Taking into account the TIME I put into it, I'd be able to produce no less than 30,000 words per month if I'd be 'inspired' every day and did no editting at all; but then the quality of the story would be a lot lower I guess I'd like to know about others -- please give me an estimate of how many words you produce on average each month. I have the feeling that readers want a new chapter per DAY, not one every 5 weeks . It feels not right that I put this much time into it and then people still 'forget' about the story, cause it's going too slow. Aleric

Thanks for the wonderful feedback and encouragements guys, it really means a lot to me to have friends here. :king: Note that this wasn't just a first regarding the story, but also for the site itself; as you will have noticed it "forces" people to give feedback (a rating) after every chapter. I believe the concept works: I know exactly how many people have actually READ my story (and not just 'clicked' on it and then left as MANY do!) But, it turns out that very few people do MORE than the mandatory click to rate a chapter: not many add some text as well to say what they liked or disliked in particular. [ And considering that it takes just two mouse clicks and each chapter has costed me about a month of work, I think it's sad (and weird) that some even do considerably MORE effort than just two mouse click while trying to AVOID having to give a rating! :wacko: ] Anyway, my conclusion after the short time that this feedback-shark has now been tested, is that people like to read, but that the barrier to give feedback is very high for most. I am sure this is the case in general. So, authors: don't think people aren't reading your stories when you don't get feedback via email, or on the forums. A lot of people really DO read it. Aleric

It doesn't really matter, cause in the end you'll have to read it all anyway I first read all his short stories. Now I am addicted to reading series though. Gone From Daylight is his best story I think, but if that means you should keep it for the winter nights next to your open hearth, or start reading it right away, I can't say. Aleric
