1 out of 10 condoms will get a girl pregnent. And you know what is even more frightning than that? My sister used to work for a company that made condoms in Alabama. She told me that - 1 out of 3 condoms have holes big enough to leak the HIV virus ... There is no such thing of 'safe sex'. And I find it disturbing that people ignore this. Even Clinton, when he was President, knew this fact, and yet his administration promoted the idea that condoms made you safe from HIV/AIDS. And a condom will not protect you from anything that will spread through genital contact ... such as the scrotum rubbing against another scrotum or vagina. Thus you have the spread of genital herpies and warts, which can't be cured. I have seen commercials advertising how using there products will delay the cycle of outbreaks. So to tell readers that if you use a condom means that you are safe scares me. Boy on a String

When are you going to do some more of 'The Log Way' and DD? In DD I am waiting for the letter to arrive. Boy on a String (Do it soon, or I will send :2hands: to visit you ... and this is not a threat ... just a promise)

I like Jars of Clay, Third Day, DC Talk, Rich Mullins, Michael W. Smith. I also like old stuff like John Denver, Gorden Lightfoot, Moody Blues. And a lot of stuff from the 80's. Gensis, Madonna and the like. I listen to music a lot. Even sleep with the radio on. I read, write, and play games to music. The only time I don't listen to music is when I am watching the TV. And I agree with Patrick. Music is a key to my life. I like musicmatch.com. They have great stations, and just an occasional blurb about music match (no more than 45 secs before they go back to the music). Boy on a String

I was able to add one comment. It showed up as 'visitor's comments 1'. I clicked on it and sure enough ... my comment was there. When I tried to add another comment, I got "Can't save entry into database at the moment. Please retry later!." I have retried several times with different messages. Got the above each time. Suggestion. Put an 'optional' tag under the e-mail address so folks will know that it is not required. If this will be used like I think it will, that will let people know that they don't have to put in their e-mail, so hopefully more people would use it. Boy on a String (Thanks, Myr, for trying your continued improvements.)

glad the move is done. And thank you for your post, Patrick. It helps clear it up, and I hope it can now be put to bed so we can move on. Boy on a String

I would like to be able to log in from the home page. A hit counter so an author could see how many hits each story it getting. A way (I know that it would be extreamly difficult ... maybe the new place it would be easier) for readers to 'click' a button that would allow them to respond to the story/chapter at the end of each chapter. We do have this in each thread. Of course it would have to route people to a different forum (either the cafe, or a new one, and it would be better if they could respond without having to be a member). That of course leaves the problem of how an author would add to his story. I would not want to see several responces by readers between chapters of a story. Would it be possible to have a 'date of last post' for the stories? That way I can visit a story, and know when a chapter has been added because the date has changed. (I hope this makes sense.) Orson Scott Card is writing a comic for Marvel - Ultimate Iron Man. I have read the first issue. It is good. Am looking forward to seeing where it goes. The comic came out last week (Wednesday). Dont know if you can still find the first issue. However, it may become a serious collectors item in a few years. Boy on a String

I don't think it is falling apart. That does not mean that I am not worried. This is a free place to post your stories. There isn't anyway to force people to provide feedback. I don't care where you post your stories, more people will read them than will ever reply. That is the nature of the beast. I have seen several people make comments about wanting/needing feedback. My question to the authors here ... do you provide an e-mail address at the end of your chapters so people can e-mail you? That way you don't have to be a member in order to give feed back. I also wonder if it is acceptable to post at two different places. I know of several authors that do that. I do think that leaving is not the solution. If it is feedback that you want, and you want to post your stories at another site, then do so. That doesn't mean that you can't post your stories here as well. Boy on a String.

I thought you added chapter 6 to DD. But I can't find it. Really like your story so far. The grandmother is a riot ... and very realistic. Makes me have to ask ... is she based off your own grandmother? Boy on a String

Thanks all. It has been a difficult birthday this year. I have had the flu and strip for the last week ... and it has caused me to miss a week of work. I am finally feeling better, but don't have the reserve energy I normally do. Hope you all are doing well. Boy on a String

Hi, all. I was just wondering why we had to use our email now to log in.

OK, I will butcher his name, but Louie La Moure, is an auther who wrote a lot of westerns. He is one of the best loved story tellers of the western gerene. I had an older cousin who was an enlish teacher. He loved these books, but had a really hard time, because Louie had poor grammer, and my cousin would find himself wanting to correct the grammer in these books. He finally realized that this was taking away from his enjoyment of reading the stories, and that he wasn't Louie's english teacher. So the decided to just enjoy the stories. If someone has poor grammer, but a good story, and they are telling it well, then I will keep reading it. However, if the story is one big paragraph, and I can't follow it, then I drop it. Another use for commas is when you are addressing someone in a sentence. "Hey Bob, come over here," he said. That is how I see most sentences. It should be; "Hey, Bob, come over here," he said. Another example - "I just called, Mom, to let you know where I am," Sam heard Joe saying on the telephone. And when the person is addressing someone directly, like above, (mom, dad, brother, sister) then it should start with a capital. I have a hard time with first, second, third person. So I don't know what person this is in, but this is when you don't capitalize; "I just talked to my mom," He said. Or "Thanks, Sam, for letting me call my mom," Joe said. When I went through school, I was taught that all words in the begining of a double quote, (") was capitalized. He said, "Come here." I was also taught that all words after the quote (") was to be capitalized as well. "Come here," He said. The exeption to the rule would be; "Come here," said Sam. Boy on a String

I bought Sacred. It was a fun game to play ... until I downloaded a patch for it. Since then, it wont load. All I get is a black/blue screen. I spent $150 or so up- grading my graphic and sound cards, hours finding sites to download the latest drivers for my new products, and it has all been useless. It is a great game to play ... for the little I was able to play it. For those of you who have it and can play it, I hope you enjoy it. However, for those who haven't bought it yet ... they will not refund your money. So, be careful. Boy on a String

I was on my way to work when they interupted the music ... I missed the first couple of things as I was in traffic ... and then when I listened in, I was confused because I couldn't figure out what they were talking about. Then when they repeated that a plane had hit the world trade center, the first thing that went through my mind was the Columbine Incident ... and the diary they found of where the young men wanted to hi-jack a plane and fly it into the Sears Tower. So I was fearful that something along those lines had happened ... and then I heard it was a jet. When I got to work, others had the radio on, and we were walking around in a daze. When our boss got there and we told him, he went out and got an antenna for the little tv/vcr player that we used for product advertisements. He got it hooked up in time for me to watch the second plane fly into the second tower (though it could have been a replay, I don't think it was). I was close to tears when I saw the first tower collapse. I know I said, "OH MY GOD." I don't think the people believed me when I told them ... but when they saw the replay and heard it for themselves ... It was a horrible day. Boy on a String (And remembering this, and telling about it, still brings tears to my eyes ...)

I was reading Different Worlds by Minerva Alistor. It is linked in our story archive. It is hosted at fanfic. I started this story right before the crash two or three weeks ago, and now I can't find the story. All I get is this message: HTTP Server Error 503 Two possible reasons: 1) invalid url 2) servers overloaded. I have used the search engine at fan fic ... but have been unable to find the story. Does anyone know of another place where it is hosted? Boy on a String

I started a story at fanfiction .net because of a link from our archive. The story is called, 'Different Worlds'. I like what I have read so far. The problem I am having is the fact that last night I read 6 or 7 chapters. Today, when I went back to continue reading, I get 'story not found' for anything past chapter 3. Is this typical for fanfiction.net? And does anyone know how to access the rest of the chapters? Boy on a String

I think this guy is a total idiot. He has drawn his own conclusions before he read the books, and then only read the books to back his conclusions. The best example I can give is when he says Rolwins is promoting gays because Dursley asks Harry, "Who is Cedric ... is he your boyfriend?" That is typical teen teasing/harrassment, esp if they don't like/hate the person they are harrassing. That doesn't mean that either of the teens are gay, nor that the support or are promoting a gay life style. That is how teens talk (male teens anyway ... not sure about female teens).
