  1. While I am certainly anticipating the next installment, what does another author's publishing schedule have to do with anything. Some save up chapters for a while then post the all at once, while others write quickly and have stories fraught with inconsistencies, grammatical errors and just horrible dialogue. Should authors pass up events in their real lives merely to please the impatient readers with entitlement issues? Mark publishes quickly enough, especially since he has two stories being written at the same time. He warned us at the beginning of the third installment that it would be published at a slower pass, so one shouldn't be surprised that he has done so. I might also remind you, we aren't paying him to do this for us, and thus he is not beholden to post on some sort of schedule. This is something he is doing for his own enjoyment, which he has been gracious enough to share with us. I might also add that a great deal of stories published on the net have weeks, if not months in between postings. Be glad that he has provided so many chapters to the two stories in such a compressed amount of time.
  2. I'm still thinking hepatitis C, the symptoms really seem to fit; nausea, fatigue, jaundice, liver damage, itching, foul breath. However, not sure if that could give a false positive on an HIV test. I know that the two sometimes infect a person jointly, since they are both blood born. Liked the in character acknowledgments of Matt and Wade's resemblances to Brad and JP, almost a passing of the torches.
  3. Well, he's a likable character. Can't really see anyone wanting him to. I certainly don't want him to. Though, this new chapter sounds like Hepatitis, or at least it seems to have several of the symptoms that my sister and ex had with theirs.
  4. Well, consider this was 20 years ago, in a very church controlled area. Yeah, there were certain girls who matched that description, but word traveled fast when something as scandalous as a pregnant teen happened. Add the public shunning that such girls often got, and most were fairly content with heavy petting, and maybe a handjob. Funny that despite the strict "moral" standards the town enforced back then, the town is pretty much nothing but drunks and ho's now.
  5. LoL, not necessarily. Sometimes there's the any port in a storm mentality. Let's face it, girls in small conservative towns tend to be a little less likely to be giving it up. Not always, but usually, and boys do get horny.
  6. Just to add my 2 cents to the topic; my ex has a great nephew that's gay, 3 first cousins that are gay, a bi sexual brother, and it is thought (based on things stated by him and his mother) that his father was bent as well. That isn't even going into the several second cousins who are gay or bi. So the concept of several gay members in a family isn't that out there. He also grew up in a backwoods redneck town that is literally less than a square mile in size, and yet, he had same sex experiences with nearly half the straight guys his age in town, and more than a few who were older than him. One need not be from a big liberal area to encounter such things. Hell, a friend of ours from Ireland is constantly making out with his straight friends, even had sex with a few. I can honestly state that none of us associate with many other gay men. Hell, my ex and I still hangout, but that's about it for us. Most of our friends are straight, and we don't go to the clubs or bars, or surround ourselves with other gays. As for realism, I don't read fiction when I want reality. If I need things to be that ridged, I'll read nonfiction or just visit friends. I read these stories to be entertained, not educated. Btw, Mark, thank you for providing a wonderful story. I've enjoyed the whole thing, even 1968. Liam
  7. Not even once. Seriously, I have never thought of females in a sexual manner, even when I tried to. Sorry, nothing kills the mood faster for me than female bits. Hell, even extended physical contact beyond a hug with a girl makes my skin crawl.
  8. "1) So, Robbie was barely sixteen when he made the girlfriend pregnant.... Although americans can be 'clueless' and such, still I am amazed that nothing in Robbie's or anyone else's brains got any nudge when his former GF disappered after that summer of sex... Btw, a young -mid-teenage- girl, pregnant in something like 4th month, that would actually show to the eyes of the discerning... already in the 3rd month, people say... So, we must conclude that Robbie is really clueless.... In November, she would been already in sixth or fifth month.... and heavy, right? [o why are north Europeans today about 30 or more when having kids, and today Americans still teenagers when getting the first kid.... ???? I am trying to say that the look at this alleged feature of Americal culture is really odd to me... pretty odd to think that kids are having kids... that's not at all usual in my country...] " Not all girls show that early. Hell, my roomate didn't know his girlfriend was pregnant until she went to the hospital to have it, and this was not a heavyset girl. She hid it from everyone, even her own family whom she lived with. And 16 year olds aren't known for their foresight. If she told him she was going away to help a family member, I doubt he would have thought anything out of place. "2) Brad and Robbie really could or should not been born in different years: that pretty much ruins the idea they would be in the same class... Had Brad been kept in one class (=repeat, or something like) for two years in some past stage?" They started school in two different states. Not all states have the same age requirements for starting school. It's possible Robbie got to start school earlier because of how late his birthday was in the school year. I hit 12th grade at 16 and graduated at 17, no grade skipping required. It's also possible that Brad was held back when he started in California because of transferring when he was sent to JP (or was he not old enough to have started school? I don't recall off hand), or Robbie pushed ahead due to credits completed. Each state has differing graduation requirements. "3) why was that earlier story having Brad to moan about 'two years left' in HS (when contemplating the consequences of getting outed), if he really had only his senior year left then ?" No clue. I would have to go reread the story. Really, I think you are over thinking this way too much. lol But whatever floats your boat. :3
  9. Consider that Larry King fathered a son at age 67, or that Donald Trump had a son when he was almost 60. It may not be the norm, but hardly unheard of or rare for men in their 60's and even 70's to sire.
  10. I hope Marcel pulls through, it'd be awefully tragic for Jeff's only remaining child to die like that. As for Bruno, I liked him in Summer Love, but Fits has me praying that he is on the receiving end of some Crampton style justice.
  11. I'm kinda curious what it was in 1968 that really turned people off of JP. If anything 1968 made me fairly sympathetic towards him. Anyways, back on topic, good for Stef in having some fun. He at least seems to be keeping his head firmly in place by understanding Cody to be a gold digger. Maybe he'll prove everyone wrong. ^^
  12. I'm sad about Lark. I liked him way back in Be Rad, hard to see him turn into such a prig. Maybe someday he'll find himself and be happy. Glad to see Max happy, he deserves it. Good story once again, Mark. Keep it up. ^^
  13. It seems that we've gone full circle. Not a bad thing at all, though. Poor JP, he seems destined to lose everyone he loves. It'll be interesting to see how things develop between him and Marcel. Good to see that Brad and Robbie are doing well still. Keep up the good work.
  14. You know, I was thinking about it today. Anyone else get a Tales of the City vibe from the series?
  15. Great ending. Glad to see Robbie and Brad both settle into their life together. Can't wait to see the next series, though, why do I have the feeling that it'll be opening with Tonto's funeral. ; ; Anyways, keep up the great writing.
  16. I can't imagine Robbie being too surprised, since Brad told him up front about having had sex with her. Granted, doesn't mean he'll be happy about it. I'm sure the two will work it out though. Seems like Brad is trying to recreate his family life growing up, a mom and two dads for the kids. ^^
  17. Good Chapter. Not too surprised by the killer; he never did explain his missing time after leaving and arriving back at the apartment. And it's good to see him working with Brad in a more open manner now. Seeing how Robbie asserted himself with Steph when working the house, I hope that he finds a way into the business. He would be doing what he loves the most if he got to reconstruct properties, or design new ones for it. Looking forward to the next one.
  18. WTH. It still won't let me see it. How'd you get to?
  19. It show's the link to 24 but won't let me see it. I are sad. It's like when my great-grandma would make pies before family came over, but would put it out of reach, then throw it away after the kids left.
  20. I did the same (starting with Be Rad) and I would definitely suggest reading the others. Definitely gives a perspective on why JP, Steph and the rest behave the way they do.
  21. Keep in mind, JP didn't exactly make friends among the police when he and Jeff were in Paris last. Wouldn't have taken much for someone in the police force to recognize Robbie as being related to Jeff. So when Jerk brought the pics in, it could have came across someone with a grudge.
  22. Hmm. I really hope nothing happens to Robbie. For some reason, it seems to be set up to off him, and I'd be really ticked if he was killed right as the two were finally getting things together in their relationship. Sure hope this thing with the nanny was just a heat of the moment thing, as well. Well, can't believe Jim turned out to be such a sleaze.
  23. I'm almost wondering if the policemen were actually that, and not part of Neil's group.
