  1. I'm not sure what to tell you, aside from what others already have. Just love yourself and know that we wish you the best of luck. ~Kay
  2. text editor: haven't done much of that lately, but when I do, it's generally just notepad internet: Internet Explorer Netscape other major bits of software i use pretty much daily: artsy: PSP 9 (Paint Shop Pro) Photoshop writing: Word WordPerfect Wordpad operating system: WinXP which formats do you use for text documents? usually rtf, unless a publisher specifically wants txt or doc
  3. Oh, yes. LOL Personally, I adore those looks. I've always gotten weird looks. Was a Class A "Tomboy" growing up; still am. Gotta love it.
  4. Amen. That's how I got serious about writing, instead of playing EverQuest. LOL Now? I've got work published in several places. I wouldn't go back to my life before writing for anything.
  5. *chuckles* You think this sort of deviation from a topic is bad? LOL You haven't seen some of the totally insane conversations we've had at ERWF. As for the voice in your head... I can understand that. I've always actually admired people who can write fanfic, be it with real or fictional characters. There's only one pairing I've ever considered writing a fanfic about, and they are the heroes from the first two books in Glenna McReynolds medieval (het) romance trilogy. LOL
  6. Very, very true! Although I'm much more visual-oriented than written, but until I can fulfill my dream of starting an all-gay porn company, I'll stick to writing. LOL Also, for people like me who are dealing with gender issues, it can be a form of therapy. Writing it helps me tremendously in that it lets the man inside have his say.
  7. Not naive. LOL Believe it or not, erotic gay fiction is a rapidly-growing genre with female authors/readers. 90% of the authors I know who write it, ARE female. Now, if you want to get technical about things... I am omnigendered. Although I'm physically female, my mind is male. The only female thing about me (aside from legal name) is my body. I don't know if I'd ever go through the rigors of transition to male, simply because the surgeries involved are far from perfect, or even desirable, in some cases. But back to the issue of the genre and its writers... within the female reader/author community, it's generally referred to as 'slash' fiction, the term 'slash' having originated along the lines of the actual mark denoting the pairing (ie. Kirk/Spock; etc...) While most female-written gay erotic fiction is romantic in nature, that is not always the case. I ghostwrite for three gay porn sites, in which I write "first person accounts" using fake male names. There's no romance involved; just 1000-2000 word sex scenes. LOL
  8. Just a note of places to find me: ERWF: http://veinglory.8.forumer.com (iasomie) Queer Writers: http://www.queerwriters.com/ (iasomie) Torquere Press: http://www.torquerepress.net/forums/ (iasomie) Gay Fiction Discussion: http://gayfiction.forumsplace.com/index.html (mychael) (Part of my reasoning for posting this is to keep up with it. LOL I'm one of three admins for ERWF and just started up Gay Fiction Discussion last night.)
  9. Welcome, Julia! I'm sort of a newbie here. LOL I haunt so many forums (and run/help run at least 3 of them), so I tend to lose track every once in a while. You'll love it here. ~Kay
  10. Doh! I'm behind, but happy late birthday!
  11. Oh, Lord. LOL I saw the movie (very awesome, I might add), but this is priceless!
  12. Oh, yes. Hands-on experimentation, analysis. You know...that sort of thing...
  13. Rowr! *grins*
  14. I'd just skim the pages for the good stuff...
  15. Now I'm REALLY curious!
