Ode to the Taint - 1. Ode to the Taint

Ode to the Taint

By Mark Arbour

I carefully descend the burnished crags

To the enticing valley below.

My hands push hard, separating the legs

To see the skin, so pink, so aglow.

The smooth lea that awaits me entices

With an aroma sweet and pungent.

The grass is sparse, as if it’s just been cut

And trimmed at the edge of the pavement.

A small hillock interrupts my travels,

So I jab it gently with my prow.

I feel it vibrating beneath the ground

As if already sensing the plow.

Lower and down my journey continues,

Until I reach the end of the line

At a gaping, quivering, gasping hole,

Soon to be stuffed with a very large pole.

Mark, I think you could make a menu an enjoyable read.

The poem reeks of heavenly bliss, gentle flavors and the erotic intent. If I wasn't old and fat I'd be tempted to send you an application for the next stanza. But I'll settle for the textual tastes you care enough to share with the world.

Few realize how difficult it is to make complete pictures with so few words. I do and have found great appreciation in this and ALL of your writing. You apply the same philosophy in your stories which is why they are so packed with emotions, sights and sounds, colors and flavors. No words are there as fillers. Every syllable adds to the story or picture.

Well done.

Thanks. I think it has proven one thing: I am no poet.

Your response to Bumblebee was somewhat surprising. If I were a betting man I would have lost, as I would have thought your reply would have said:

"No, its all about plowing!"

Just to keep the mixed metaphor on track....

Good point. Plowing sounds more slow and methodical. Drilling is about rough, hard, penetration. :-)
