The Doorways to the Unknown - 2. Loving the Unknown

Sometimes love hurts and you close that door. However sometimes doors don't stay that way

Love the Unknown

After the pain I sealed that door

Knowing I did not want it any more

Yet with a look from you the door fell down

I built my walls thick and tall

Keeping everyone out so I would not fall

Yet with a word from you my walls lay shattered

I hid within the hollow man

Letting his smile protect me was the plan

Yet with a poke and a prod you cracked him open.

I now lie naked and bare

In a world where I thought no one would care

Yet with a smile on your face you wrapped me in your love and carried me away.

What we will share together is yet unknown but love.

Dedicated to Justin who broke my door and shattered my walls.

Chapter Comments

This was somewhat personally touching to me, so Ill just say what it brought out in me:

I too might appear confidant and smiling to the outside but I hide something else in the inside. And it takes a really special person to crack my shell. And it is cracking now. Though the outcome will be me building an even thicker wall around me than being wrapped in love. Or maybe facing these emotions will help me through this time with lesser crumbling.

Thank you for sharing this poem.

Ooh a love poem dedication to someone special, me likes!

Ok don't mind me too much. That's my way of saying that I like this poem. As usual, thanks!

Well I think everyone tries to hide after being hurt. It is just when someone reminds that life is worth living that we are able to admit love still exists. Thank you for reading.

I'm glad you understood the hollow smiling man. I was afraid it might have been lost in translation. Thank you for all your comments and for keeping me honest with this Maria.
