Trust me, I know - 1. Chapter 1

The nerves take over,
The shaking starts,
Ragged breathing,
The thoughts taking over.

Swimming through me,
Constantly nudging me towards temptation,
What would they all think of me then?
If they could see me now, would they still come near me?

I prefer disgust and hatred on their faces,
Over the crushing look of pity and sympathy.

It chases down my legs in pin pricks,
Tickling my cold feet,
Quickly wrapping around my heart.

The beat of my heart,
I can feel it pulsing through my still body,
My breathing come out ragged,
Slow and deep then quick and shallow.

I can feel them laughing at me,
Talking about what a worthless fuck I am,
I understand why everyone would say that.
Stupid,
Dumb,
Ugly,
Fat,
Horrible,
Worthless,
Selfish,
Disgusting,
Useless excuse of a human being.

Trust me when I say,
I understand,
I've been told it enough.

The shame of knowing that strangers and family alike,
knows about this,
Is crippling.

It sunk in a few years ago,
That it’s all true.
You can add dyke to that list.
Everyone seemed to know that before me.
So who’s to say,
That everything else is a lie?

This is my first time to read a poem of yours (sorry, I've just reorganized my daily life so as to put in a little bit of reading) and I must say, I'm very much impressed. There's something about this poem which rings true that's why I was moved. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Bee

Joe here. Very powerful verse. I get the sense you are believing all the labels others put on you.

Please don't take their hate and own it. It is not you .It is them.

It will take work and time but please learn to separate from the hate.

I LOVE you Bee. Be good to yourself OK.

Joe

Thanks for reading and taking to time to review Joe
