Prompting Cyn - 1. Chapter 1

We are watching a television show,
Just enjoying each others company.
It is nice to just sit here with her;
We don't do it often enough.

When a commercial comes up,
I turn to look at her, smiling as I realize
She's fallen asleep, her face so peaceful.
I turn off the TV and whisper, "I love you, Mom."

Awww, it is so sad to think of all the opportunities I missed to say that to my mom. Never take your loved ones for granted. Beautiful

Thank you. Unfortunately, it is all too easy to take a loved one for granted, even without realizing you are doing so. I'm glad you enjoyed this little poem. :)

I know I drink too much and all, but tonight, as have been many nights, we shared beer in the kitchen. I stayed awake and momma fell asleep. I kissed her forehead, covered her up in the chair and brought her alarm clock downstairs so she didn't miss work. Can't ever undervalue a mother's worth... 'Course doubt she'd like your poem much, cause it was my reminder to make her wake up for work as well, hehe.
