7.31.14 and other dates of insignificance - 1. Poem One, Good
7.31.14
Good
by Foster
I don’t know
Who I am
Today
I’ve been off
For so long
I know there have been whispers
From those dreams
Leaking out
Clever little witticisms
The past
A friend
That I hardly remember anymore
Did we love
Did I care
Did I do wrong
You can stare
For a very long time
At nothing
The sky might be falling
And the ground might be calling
And an ending will come
A life is just another speck
From head on perspective
It’s flat
Fallen silent
All cliché
Left among the echoes
When I was hunger
He didn’t want me
Too shy
To be bolder
Inopportune
When I was younger
Quiescent
Crazy spent
All the slow-moving moments
My kisses were all ridiculous
My touch too much
My words too many
My burst of need
Laughable…
Just laughable
Did I just recall
Something
Completely forgotten
It’s a Thursday
Isn’t it.
