Destiny - a novel - Prologue. Prologue

The following story unfolds through the eyes and opinions of three teenagers. I make no judgments on anyone, nor on the families of anyone, faced with the tough circumstances described in Destiny. I humbly ask that you reserve all assessments until the end.

I must also warn you that this is not going to be a 'medical drama,' as I was interested in the personal interactions of people in this situation, and not the day-to-day work of leukemia treatment.

Thank you,

The Author

I have many people to thank: Lisa and Timothy M. served as join editors, and beta readers. Thanks to ColumbusGuy and mg777 for technical support, and to Headstall for moral encouragement at a time when I felt like scrapping the entire project. Gary's sage words led me to go on and write the book from my notes and outlines. Any remaining errors or oddities in the text are entirely mine.

I think the most impressive part is that in spite of me having a hard time appreciating Dignity, you actually made me like large parts of Destiny. But perhaps that's because you let me rant at everybody and everything, LOL. But even more miraculously, you said my reactions and opinions were atually useful. I'm still a bit shell-shocked and flattered about that.
To everyone else all I can say is take a deep breath and strap yourself in. The rollercoaster is about to take off ! You won't regret the trip.

Man, AC, it's finally happening! Since you first told me you were thnking of a sequel to Dignity, I was wondering how many years I'd have to wait--because nothing you write is simple or ill-researched.

Hooray for Linc and Jack! Please try not to make me cry too hard like last time. :)

LOL, you made me look it up, and the last posting on Dignity was in July of last year. So, I forced you wait to, but it was less than 12 months, AND I wrote, completed, and posted Bound & Bound in between.

Insider knowledge now, but Destiny was hard to write than B&B…don't tell anyone ;)

Thanks for all of your support, ColumbusGuy!

Of course they were, Tim. You highlighted all the moments I thought were shaky as being only partially shaky, lol.

Thanks for all of your support, and for keeping it real with me too. I owe ya.
