Starry Eyed - 2. Chapter 2

A few days later found Brandon in a coffee shop near their dorm room, looking over Micah's sketchbook. A lot of his work was online, but Micah was the type that also liked to get out and work other places, coffee shops being his favorite.

"I live off of caffeine," he admitted. "Plus, it's nice. The light is pretty good, the music isn't distracting and all the background noise just provides a nice ambience. Even if I only have like 15 or 20 minutes, it's enough time for a nice cappuccino, and do a quick sketch or drawing exercise."

Brandon, who used to live off Coke and frappuccinos, nodded in agreement. Micah was looking over some of Brandon's sketches, which was a fair enough trade, and seemed incapable of not saying something about each of them. It was nice. Brandon had his darker sketches hidden back in his dorm, and the constant stream of talking meant that he didn't have to say much. And he always enjoyed looking at other people's work. Micah had a few pencil sketches, but he obviously enjoyed color, as most of his work was flooded with vibrant shades. He had a penchant for portraits, especially celebrities, musicians and movie stars. It was a little unsettling, even though Brandon knew the thought was hypocritical. Keith drew people, but so did he. Keith brought over monsters that hurt people, but Brandon did not. It would be okay.

Brandon enjoyed spending time with Micah. This was their second meeting since the party and they swapped opinions on drawing utensils, methods, styles, instructors and everything in between. Brandon had worried a little bit about Micah not being Lisa's Creator at all, but Jordan hadn't been concerned.

"It's not very likely," Jordan had reassured Brandon. "We can't be sure until they meet, but Lisa is the only Enabler I've found so far, so it makes sense that Micah is her Creator. I don't think you would find a Creator for an Enabler that hasn't been discovered yet."

And there they were, his boyfriend through the door of the shop right now, Lisa in tow. Brandon couldn't help the smile that always spread over his face at the sight of Jordan. Lisa was hanging back several steps, visibly nervous. Brandon noticed that she was dressed nicely and had taken obvious care with her hair and makeup. He still remembered, with a sense of shame, how awful and dismissive he had been towards Jordan initially, who came to him with this crazy story about a supernatural ability and tried his best to explain it and help Brandon understand it. Brandon had fought him at every turn. Hopefully, Micah would be more accepting.

"Hey," Brandon said as Jordan approached. He stood up and let Jordan embrace him, tilted his head down to kiss him. Once they broke away, he turned to Micah. "Micah, since you hate doing introductions, this is my boyfriend, Jordan."

Micah stood up to shake his hand.

"And...this is his friend, Lisa."

Lisa took a deep breath and stepped forward with her hand extended and her smile slightly fixed. Brandon was watching their faces and saw something flicker across Lisa's expression as their hands made contact and something, alive and powerful seemed to flare into existence for a moment before fading away, leaving a type of crackling electricity lingering in the air, like the atmosphere after a lightning strike. Brandon could feel Jordan's delight. Lisa looked stunned, Micah vaguely confused. Lisa sat down next to Micah, Jordan next to Brandon and gave his hand a quick squeeze.

"Um, Micah, we actually need to talk to you about something. Something really weird and kind of incredible," Brandon started, his heart again beginning to beat too hard in his chest.

Another squeeze from Jordan. It's all okay, baby, this was all meant to be. It's going to be fine.

It did not go well.

Brandon sat crossed legged on his bed, watching Jordan pace and gesture as he talked on the phone with Lisa.

"No, Lis, that wouldn't have helped...I know, but please don't cry again, we'll figure out a way to fix it...no...yeah, I know, I know."

In retrospect, Brandon supposed he should have known better. Everything had been moving too smoothly, and falling into place too easily. In all the time he and Jordan had been working together, nothing was ever easy or worked perfectly the first time. It just didn't happen, and he shouldn't have expected that things between Lisa and Micah would be any different.

It was obvious that Micah didn't believe them when Jordan tried to explain Creating and Enabling, which Brandon accepted. When they showed Micah how it worked, with Jordan enabling over a pencil that Brandon drew, Micah treated it as a fantastic trick, a sleight of hand. Brandon thought that if he'd been paying more attention, he might have seen the signs. Lisa had leaned in closer, totally engaged, but Micah did not, arms crossed defensively. He had been shifty and sweaty, and Brandon didn't see the naked panic blossoming in his eyes until it was already too late.

Lisa had nudged Micah's sketchpad over to him, and Brandon had encouraged him to draw something. Micah had drawn a pair of dice, his movements too stiff and jerky. Lisa had taken Micah’s hand, placing hers over the drawing and moments later, the dice had appeared underneath her fingers. Lisa actually bounced a little in excitement.

"Look. Look, we did it, we really did it!" She picked up the dice, shook them in her hand, and tossed them down, watching them tumble across the table.

Micah started a little at the sound of them clattering across the Formica and jumped up, so violently that he overturned his chair and stalked out of the cafe. Lisa had jumped up and raced after him, but once Jordan and Brandon met up with her outside the cafe, Micah was nowhere to be seen and Lisa was sitting on a bench, face in her hands and sobbing.

Jordan finally got off the phone with Lisa and collapsed on the bed next to Brandon with a heavy sigh, throwing his arm over his eyes.

"She still upset?" Brandon asked.

"Devastated. Keeps bursting into tears."

"Hmm." Brandon leaned over and kissed his boyfriend's hairline. "Did I ever make you cry?"

Jordan lifted his arm up from in front of his face and gave Brandon a teasing grin. "Nah. You more inspired a desire to punch something."

Brandon laughed and socked him with a pillow, before allowing Jordan to kiss him. Jordan sighed and rested his head onto Brandon's shoulder.

"I hate that it went so badly. Lisa was so excited. She could hardly wait to meet Micah. It was the very first time she'd ever Enabled something and she was looking forward to it. Then her Creator freaks and goes tearing out of there. She thinks it's all her fault. Like there was something she could have done."

Brandon sighed. "Or something I could have done. I should have been paying closer attention. He was freaking out and I didn't see it."

"That's not your fault. None of us were expecting it."

"Well, I freaked out," Brandon pointed out.

"But not right away. I think you were shocked at first. But everyone reacts differently. Maybe we should have done this somewhere we had more control, like our dorm or Lisa's. I just thought a neutral, low-key environment would be best."

"No, you were right," Brandon decided. "Since Micah did end up panicking, he was in a place that he could easily escape. A closed off place would have been worse. I don't think Micah is a violent person, but he might have lashed out if we did this somewhere that didn't have an easy exit, if he felt trapped or cornered."

Jordan shook his head. He looked miserable, and Brandon could feel the echoing disappointment and guilt in his own mind from their bond. "I just hate that it went so poorly. Lisa had been worried about never finding her Creator and when I told her we found him, she just lit up. She was looking forward to meeting him, to exploring her abilities, to forging a connection...the whole thing went to shit, and I can't figure out where we went wrong."

Brandon thought for a moment. "Maybe we could have tried telling them separately. I mean, you had already told Lisa, so she was prepared, but we kind of sprung it on Micah. I could have talked to him privately, or even both of us could have, but I just don't think he would have believed us unless he and Lisa did it themselves."

"I was told I was an Enabler before I met you. I thought that was how it was done," Jordan said bleakly. "That is how Nikki and Dalaja did it with me. I--I wish I had another Enabler who's done this before, to give me some advice. Like how Dalaja used to."

"Is she still ignoring your emails?"

"Yeah."

Brandon could detect the slight hint of a tremor in Jordan's voice and found his dislike for the other woman grow even stronger.

"Screw her. Don't worry. We messed up, but we'll figure out a way to fix this."

"Hmm." They lapsed into a thoughtful silence, Jordan tracing aimless patterns on the back of Brandon's hands.

Jordan turned to him. "Do you volunteer tonight?"

Brandon shook his head.

Jordan kissed him. "Let's go out."

Dates with Jordan usually involved going out to eat at a nice restaurant or a movie at the nearby drive-in, both of which Brandon enjoyed. This time, Jordan took him to a fondue restaurant, something Brandon had never tried before. He liked it from the moment they sat down. It was dimly lit, not overly loud and the curved booth they were seated in allowed him to settle in as close to Jordan as he wanted.

The food was delicious and the best part was that Jordan didn't check his phone once, even though Brandon knew that Lisa had probably called a few times.

"I think our best course of action would be to talk to Micah first," Brandon said, swirling a piece of bread in the cheese sauce at the table. He popped it in his mouth. "After all, Lisa is fully on board and has been since the beginning."

"Agreed," Jordan mused. Brandon was a little disappointed when he ran out of bread and fruit to dip, but their waitress soon reappeared to replace the cheese with hot oil and a plate of raw meat. Brandon wrinkled his nose and recoiled.

Jordan seemed unperturbed, skewering a chunk of steak and putting it in the hot oil to cook. Brandon followed his example, and was soon eagerly trying every single combination of meat and sauce at the table.

"I should talk to him," Brandon decided later, feeling full and content.

"Instead of Lisa or myself?"

"Yes." Brandon nodded. "He doesn't know you or Lisa, and he might associate her with an event that scared him."

"You were there too, though," Jordan pointed out.

"Yes, but he already knew me, and I think he trusts me a little more. He doesn't know anything about Creating, and I do. And he might have questions that Lisa just doesn't know the answer to yet."

Jordan nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure he probably doesn't want to see any of us at the moment, but you are closest to him." Jordan took a long drink of water and rested his chin in his hand. "Why do you think he freaked?"

"Several reasons, probably. The main one is that we showed him something that shouldn't exist, really. Once he Created for the first time, and Lisa Enabled it over, he couldn't dismiss it or explain it away. Artists are a pretty creative and open-minded lot, I think, but there are differing levels of skepticism when dealing with something that is obviously...otherworldly, I guess."

Brandon broke off and his eyes widened as the waitress brought another pot over...this one filled with chocolate. She set a tray down filled with different fruits and pastries and Brandon groaned.

"More food?"

Jordan chuckled. "Of course. Dessert is the best part."

Brandon over-ate. It was hard not to, because the dessert was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. It didn't stop him from groaning theatrically the entire ride back to campus. Jordan then made him get out of the car and take a long meandering walk through campus, because he was a sadist, but Brandon did find that he felt much better once he was moving.

"When do you think you will talk to Micah?" Jordan finally asked. His fingers were interlaced with Brandon's and swinging slightly as they walked.

"Probably tomorrow," Brandon said. "Give him tonight to think it over and kind of let it sink in. That is what you did with me."

Jordan nodded. "Of course, things with you were more complicated from the beginning. There was more that you had to deal with besides the Creating and Enabling. And you seemed to take it better than Micah did."

"Only at first," Brandon reminded him. "Once I understood more, I started to have not-too-great reactions as well. Like drinking too much and hooking up with creepy guys that turn out to be power-hungry psychopaths."

"I will agree that your taste in boyfriends has improved," Jordan teased. Brandon tugged on his hand to pull him closer and gave him a quick, gentle kiss.

"Keith was never my boyfriend. He was a mistake," Brandon corrected, moving in closer and wrapping his arm around Jordan's waist.

Jordan felt Brandon's sudden need for closeness and moved in closer, returning the gesture. "He's gone, baby. He won't bother you again. And Micah...he's not like Keith. Not from what you've told me."

"He's not," Brandon confirmed. "I just...I just want this to go right. Like you said."

Jordan turned and kissed Brandon's temple. "Well, we've got a plan, right? You can talk to him tomorrow. And if that doesn't work, then we'll figure something else out." Jordan gave him a mischievous grin as a tingle of sexual energy suddenly came to life through their link. "And if you want to head back to our room, I have some other plans that I think you would be very interested in."

"Oh?" Brandon found himself grinning back. "Do you want to give me any insight on what these plans entail?"

"I think that a hands on demonstration would work better."

* * *

The next day, Brandon made his way back to Micah's place after class. He checked the coffee shop that Micah liked first and after not finding him there, he ordered two cappuccinos to go and took them with him to Micah's house.

Brandon didn't recognize the person that answered the door, but when he asked to see Micah, the young man standing there motioned for Brandon to follow. Inside the house, in the daylight, Brandon found himself in a spacious living room with comfortable looking couches and loveseats, centered around a large entertainment center. There were still various people milling around and Brandon wondered how many where Micah's actual roommates and how many were friends and significant others. Instead of leading Brandon upstairs to Micah's room, his host led him to a room in the back of the house. It was set up like a workshop for various crafts, and Micah was seated in one corner. The table he was sitting at was covered with supplies, sketchpads and colored pencils but also brightly colored fabric, thread and instruments whose purpose Brandon couldn't guess at. There was even a model of a human torso on a stand.

Micah hadn't noticed him yet, bent over a sewing machine and carefully feeding the fabric under the pistoning needle. As Brandon approached however, he glanced up and when he saw Brandon standing there, the machine stopped its movement. Micah gave him a cautious, wary look, but didn't say anything.

Brandon held out one of the cappuccinos. Micah sighed and took the offered beverage, waving Brandon to another stool nearby. Brandon sat, feeling encouraged.

"What are you working on?" Brandon asked, unable to keep his curiosity at bay. He gestured to the sewing machine, which was surrounded by a bright riot of fabric.

"I'm making a romper for my sister's birthday," Micah said quietly. He picked up a sketchpad with the hand that wasn't holding the coffee and passed it to Brandon. Brandon took it and saw a sketch of what the finished project was expected to look like.

"How many sisters do you have?" Brandon asked.

"Three, all younger," Micah said, taking the sketchpad back and replacing it on the table. "What do you want Brandon? I doubt you came all the way out here just to see my current projects."

"I came all the way out here because I want to talk to you and you weren’t answering my texts."

"Most people would take that as a sign that I don't want to talk to you."

Brandon shrugged. "Most people, probably. I, however, am a stubborn asshole."

A hint of a smile flickered on Micah's face, and Brandon felt more encouraged. "I'm guessing from your reaction that what we showed you at the coffee shop yesterday bothered you."

Micah looked down at his coffee, and didn't respond.

"I can't blame you," Brandon admitted. "When Jordan first came to me and showed me what I could do...what we could do, I freaked out, too."

"And what did you do?" Micah asked, sipping at his cup.

"Avoided Jordan like crazy. Made a lot of bad decisions so I wouldn't have to deal with what he wanted to show me. Unfortunately, I had a lot of other issues connected with Creating that I had to deal with at the time. I'll tell you more about it later, if you want, but your case is different. Creating is an amazing ability, and I think if you explore it a little bit--"

"No," Micah said. "If I want to create something, I do it myself." He gestured to the sketchpad, then at the bundle of fabric being pieced together by the sewing machine. "It's plain and simple. No magic, no voodoo bullshit."

"But this goes beyond fashion design," Brandon responded. "This is artwork on a whole new scale. This is taking something that doesn't exist outside of our minds, and making it real, making it tangible. It's amazing."

"No, its fucking frightening is what it is."

Brandon nodded. "Sometimes, yes. It can be very frightening. But most of the time it's wonderful. Fun. Exciting. And I think that if you know more about it, understand it better, it will help make things less frightening."

Micah glanced back at the sewing machine. "Christ Almighty, Brandon. I saw you and your boyfriend pull a pencil from out of thin air. And then I drew the dice and that chick with you just---just--she did the exact same thing! With something I drew. I'm not okay with sitting here and playing fucking God!"

"Are you religious?" Brandon asked. He hadn't thought much about it, but if Micah believed in God as the creator of the universe, this could pose a crisis of faith, which would explain a lot of Micah’s resistance.

"That's not what I meant," Micah bit out, glaring at him again, and Brandon could see tears in the other boy's eyes. His eyes were a deep brown, and framed by long lashes. Brandon thought that they were very pretty eyes and he was struck by a sudden urge to lean forward and brush those tears away with his fingertips.

Focus Casanova. A warm thought nudged him and Brandon jerked back a little as a hot flush of embarrassment spread over his face, making his cheeks and ears burn.

"Listen, I want to tell you something," Brandon said, trying to cover his embarrassment and take his mind off of Jordan's gentle rebuke. "There was a time when I worried about the things I drew. Things that I was creating. I was going through some shit, and I was in a really dark place. And Jordan, my Enabler, he told me, he said 'We are Creators and Enablers, nothing more. We aren't Gods.' And we're not. He told me that I couldn’t draw something that isn't meant to be somehow. I can't create something if it wasn't already meant to be. Does that make sense?"

"You're talking about things being predestined. Fate."

"Kind of, yeah. If something is meant to be Created, it will be. Whether by you or me, or some other means."

Micah shook his head. "I'm not buying it."

"It makes sense Micah. No one else could have come up with the design for that romper. That came from you. I couldn’t have designed it, or Jordan or Lisa, because it's yours. You created that. What I am talking about is no different."

Micah looked down, ran a hand through his hair. "I need a drink." He got up and headed for the doorway. Brandon followed him to the kitchen, where Micah pulled out a glass and poured a clear liquid into it, then poured some orange juice. It was one of Brandon's old favorites and he felt his stomach clench in longing.

"Do you want anything?" Micah asked, opening the fridge and putting the orange juice back.

"I told you I don't drink," Brandon said.

"Oh yeah, I remember now," Micah said, scanning the fridge. "I have some Sprite, if you want."

"No thanks, I'm good," Brandon said. He watched Micah down the concoction, feeling helpless longing sweeping through him. Jordan was there, a steady mental presence, but Brandon suddenly wanted to be close to him, to touch him and feel his weight in his arms, to breathe him in.

"So...is there a reason?" Micah finally asked. He stood at the counter, with his hands braced on the edge.

"I'm not following you."

Micah gestured towards him. "That you don't drink? I mean, does it interfere with Creating?"

"Oh! Uh, no. I don't drink because I have a problem with alcohol. It has nothing to do with Creating or Enabling. Although, of course, that's not something you or Lisa should be doing if you are under the influence. I don't see you and Lisa running around the same social circles, but both of you being drunk at the same time and place would probably be a bad idea."

"You and Jordan...did you run in different social circles? Is he an artist?"

"Jordan's not an artist, and no, we had different friends and different interests when we first met. Creating and Enabling was the only link we had initially."

"But you guys date now. You introduced him as your boyfriend."

"Yes."

"So...does that mean that I have to date Lisa?"

Brandon bit back a chuckle but couldn't keep a smile from creeping across his lips. "No. That was a decision that Jordan and I made, independent of the whole Creating/Enabling dynamic." He recalled the discussion that they had a few weeks ago. "Creating and Enabling brought us together, but the decision to date was between the two of us. There is an attraction, or a pull, between Creators and other Creators. That's what helped me find you. Enablers have an attraction to other Enablers, which is much stronger, which is how Jordan got in touch with Lisa. And there is a bond between Creators and Enablers that exist between you and Lisa now. But any romantic or sexual attraction is a completely different thing and has nothing to do with Creating."

Micah chewed on his thumbnail. "Can I...or I guess can Lisa 'un-enable'?"

"What?"

"Like, say I draw something and she Enables it over. And then I decide I don't want it anymore. Or I want to redo or change it. If she Enables something over, can she un-enable it?"

No, Jordan answered immediately. Lisa can bring something over here, but she can't send it back from where it came from because, firstly, she doesn't know which universe it came from and secondly, she doesn't have to ability to send something to another reality, just this one. Do not mention reverse enabling.

Brandon relayed the answer and Micah nodded, looking thoughtful. Encouraged by the show of curiosity, Brandon continued. "If you have some more questions about how Enabling works, you should talk to Jordan. I can take you to the dorm and we can hang out and talk some more about it."

"Is that girl going to be there?"

"Not if you don't want her there, but I think it would be good for her to hear your questions and hear what Jordan has to say. You don't have to do any Creating if you don't want. It can just be a Q and A."

"Okay. She can come too. As long as you promise that I don't have to draw anything."

"Cross my heart."

"Okay. That's fine, I guess. Let me put my stuff away."

Brandon texted Jordan just a pretext, as the other boy was following the conversation and already had Lisa on the phone. Brandon drove Micah's car over to the dorm and was further encouraged that Micah brought his sketchpad and his colored pencils with him, despite his insistence that he didn't want to draw.

Lisa was already at their room when they arrived, which meant she had either already been there, or was close by. She didn't look surprised to see Brandon show up with Micah in tow. She did smile and got to her feet.

"Hi Brandon. Micah, it's good to see you again." She held out her hand and Micah took it, holding it for longer than a casual handshake and Brandon felt something shift and settle comfortably between the two. He settled back on the bed next to Jordan, who spent the next hour or so answering questions about what Creators/Enablers do, the extent of their abilities and how they worked. Jordan briefly touched on establishing a secondary connection, which both he and Brandon didn't recommend.

"Why not?" Lisa asked, her brow creased in a frown.

"All secondary connections require closeness from the Enabler and Creator," Jordan pointed out. "That includes physical proximity. So you would be okay if Micah was in the same city or perhaps even in the same state, but any further than that and it will strain your connection--and it'll get worse the further away you get. If the distance is great enough, like if you were on different continents, it would be fatal."

"We've experienced bond strain and it's not pleasant," Brandon pointed out. "We recommend that you stay close to each other to make Creating and Enabling easier in general but if you have a secondary connection, that closeness is vital. I also recommend that you wait until you are done with school and have settled on a plan for your life and your career before attempting this. If Micah were to want to go on a trip overseas, and you two had a secondary bond, then Lisa would have to go too."

"And if Lisa couldn't go?" Micah asked.

"It would probably kill both of you," Jordan answered. "If not both of you, Lisa for sure."

"Why me?" Lisa exclaimed, looking alarmed.

"You're an Enabler. You are more psychically sensitive, so you would be affected more. You're also affected if your Creator is hurt or killed."

Now Micah looked alarmed. "I don't want her hurt or killed."

"Which is why we don't recommend it at this point, " Jordan said patiently. "Secondary connections are best if you both want to do a lot of Creating and Enabling together, but not everyone has a desire to exercise their power that way. Brandon and I focus more on finding other people with the gift and bringing them together the way we did with you two. The potential for a connection is there, but that doesn't mean you necessarily have to use it."

"But you have one," Micah pointed out.

"Yes."

"So why did you decide to go for it?"

"Well, like I told you, there were other issues at the time," Brandon said. He glanced at Jordan and felt the questioning pull from him. He was asking permission. Brandon nodded slightly.

"We ran across another Creator/Enabler team," Jordan said. "They were causing a lot of problems, using their ability to hurt and manipulate other people. There are teams who usually deal with people who abuse their power, but one of Brandon's friends got involved in their scheming and so we got involved as well. We wanted to be a strong team when we came across them, so we forged the secondary bond. Another Enabler showed us how."

Micah was watching them so closely that it was unnerving. Lisa was watching Micah.

"So what happened to the other team?" Micah asked. "Are they in jail or something?"

"No," Brandon said. "The Creator was killed by one of his own creations. Enablers can't live when their Creators are gone, so she died a few days later."

Micah averted his eyes, swore under his breath. Lisa was looking at Brandon, wide-eyed and white-faced.

"I'm not telling you this to try and scare you," Brandon said. "Keith mistreated his creation, manipulated and abused him and turned him into a monster. Just as there are good and bad people, there are good and bad Creators. Which one you turn out to be is up to you."

Brandon felt a surge of calm energy through the bond and accepted it gratefully. He felt drained and exhausted, even though he had done nothing but talk.

Lisa and Micah spent the rest of the afternoon in their dorm room, peppering them with additional questions. Before they left, Micah drew another picture, a long pink ribbon and let Lisa enable it over. He stared at it for a while, then took it from Lisa's hand and used it to tie Lisa's hair back. Lisa giggled like a teenager the entire time. Later, they left the dorm together; with Brandon and Jordan's cell numbers, talking like old friends. Jordan smiled after he closed the door and crawled onto their bed, letting Brandon recline back against him, his back against Jordan's chest.

"So, for a first attempt, I think that went rather well," Brandon mumbled. He felt sleepy and content in his boyfriend’s arms.

"I agree," Jordan said, hugging him a little. "Are you okay? After talking about Keith?"

"Yeah," Brandon said, after thinking about it a little bit. "I mean, there are things about that whole period in my life that I would like to forget about, but there was also the incredible experience of falling in love with you too and I wouldn't trade those memories for the world. And besides, Micah and Lisa need to know. Creating is wonderful, but like everything it has a dark side and they need to know."

"Indeed," Jordan said. "They seem like good kids though. We'll probably have to help them navigate a little bit, but they look like a good fit. And Micah is at least trying."

"So, how much time do you think we have before we come across another pair?" Brandon asked.

"I'm not sure. Enough for us to have a few days off, at least. We could go out on another date."

"Hmm." Brandon slid free from his boyfriend’s arms and turned so that he was straddling his hips. He kissed Jordan deeply, sliding his hands up underneath his boyfriend’s shirt, feeling flesh and muscle, traveling down the ridged lines of his abdomen to his belt buckle.

"I was thinking maybe we could stay in," Brandon breathed as they broke free.

Jordan smiled and pulled Brandon down for another kiss.

"Sounds good to me."

In the last review, I said how much I liked the alternate reality you constructed. As before, you draw me in and help me make sense of the world you created. And in this chapter, you really help me understand more of its nature in Micah's reaction, and in the way Jordan and Brandon try to help mend that. Your dialogue is engagingly written, especially. Thank you.

Thank you for the review. I really like Micah's character more than I thought I would, he was very fun to write. I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying this.
