Wayne's Poems - 9. Heathen's Hymn

I look into his eyes and wonder,
how could this be so wrong?
He is my raging lightning; thunder,
his whisper is my song.

I've heard from those who damn and curse us.
They call us many things.
Raise their stones to throw, in "godliness",
yet still our voice it sings.

Hymns are the province of God on high,
gifted from Him above.
How uncomfortable then when I sigh,
and sing the song of love.

Time for a happy one. Sorta? Yeah, it's happy. 🙂

What a great poem. Hymns can be sung in any setting, and particularly in love. I especially liked the first stanza

Thanks, Parker.  That’s my favorite part too.  I wish I could get it all to flow as well as that first stanza seems to.
