Searching For My New Life - 1. What I Found

None

Take a Leap!

A leap of faith;

I left my home,

to find a place.

Just for me.

I fled away

to find some peace

a half a world away,

and managed to find me.

In this new home

with clarity, I see

alone and confused

was no life for me.

Here I can dance!

Here I can sing!

Here I can find

new friends and family.

No matter the age

we can’t be afraid

of taking a risk,

of trying new things.

The rewards will be great.

The peace so serene.

If only we take

some great leaps of faith.

What once was Autumn,

became sweet Spring

by building my new world.

A new place, a new life for me.

My Thai

Over your teak colored skin

my fingers dance and fly.

My lucky soul thrives in

your earthy almond eyes.

Your sweet smile I treasure,

a warmth that makes me soar.

A source of mirthful laughter,

or a bold brassy roar.

You tease me with your slim hips

enticingly swaying as you walk.

Erotic moves makes my heart skip,

yearning to enfold you as we talk.

Whether close or distant,

your presence I desire.

Cognizant of your scent

always fuels my inner fire.

My beautiful,

My wonderful,

My loving,

Intoxicating!

My Thai!

A Not So Traditional Haiku For You

Don’t wait for next lives.

Sometime soon is too damned late.

Your new life starts now!

Chapter Comments

I will do my best to get to Blackbird Singing, but right now I'm busy working on another story and preparing to attempt something for the secret author contest.  I'm one of those people that takes a long time writing each chapter, because not only do I write it, but I rewrite it, and then proofread it a minimum of three more times before I'm satisfied.  And with the book I'm currently posting, I totally reorganized and rewrote that, moving parts around to hopefully make it more interesting.  I'm surprised I've been able to take this much time out so I could get to the Poetry Anthology entries, but as you see, I got to them late and it's taking me a long time to get through all of them.

Don't worry, I understand and appreciate what you are doing.  I happen to be reading Secrets: The Truth is Slowly Revealed and loving it! I certainly don't want to delay you there.   I am also looking forward to both the secret author contest and this year's anthology.  I worked with the Anthology Theme committee that set up the three events.  I am very excited by the number of authors that are responding to the events.  I wish you all the best.

Wonderful work, Terry! Your exuberance for life shines through in these verses. I think what I love most is the feeling that you dared to make a momentous change in your life, and that it worked out so well for you. Your happiness with your 'Thai guy' is clear. :)

We've all been squeezed by life at one time or another. Deciding to do something about it to ensure our own happiness takes courage and determination. Starting out anew, in a new land, has to be difficult. I'm just so happy for you that it worked out so well, and that you are SO obviously happy!

Thanks Geron!  I really appreciate you comments.  I hope my poems are a partial payback for all the fun you have brought into my life.

Courage and adventurism, openness and discovery, and finally encouragement for others. Those are some of what I see and have taken from your very personal poems, thank you for sharing them, I know I will come back and read them again.

I know that by acting on your courage and adventurism you discovered the openness of a new life and met the man you love dearly, I wish you well my friend and many more years of happiness. And thank you for the encouragement in your Haiku. I hope that more of us can find the courage to discover our happiness too.

Thank you, Mancunian!  I appreciate you taking the time to read these poems.  Your kind words and thoughts made me feel wonderful my friend.  I am happy that my Haiku poems encourage you.  That was one of my goals in writing these.  It took me some years to realize it wasn't what happened to me in life that determined my happiness, but how I felt and reacted in response.  I wish you all the best, and looking forward to reading many more of your stories.
