Steve's a wrecking ball of boredom, intelligence, and drama... except no one believes him. At all.

Especially not straight laced, Baptist, All-Canadian repressed jock Kenny Jensen who is convinced Steve is out to pull a prank on him.

Lydia, Steve's sister, all around smartest girl in the room, and utterly fed up with Steve's BS, sees the truth. But will the two boys? No chance, Lydia's going to have to fix it. Uggh, boys, why are they so dumb?

Good heavens? Is there no sense of fashion in this tale's world?

A white dinner jacket - well, accepted. Though at that age?

But with a PLAID tie? Surely that was not what the shop's clerk approved!

But then it seems it wasn't bought after all.

It was borrowed.

And Steve's Mum said it bought out his eyes. A PLAID tie? Is she besotted, or colour-blind?

Surely you're kidding us.

As with the Volvo, that now is rumbling low, too.

And Kenny? Well, he also rumbles.

It must be this town's not-so secret disease.

But please go on. I won't stop laughing.

Volvo's rumble, it's a thing... I swear.

and Mother's are always besotted with their sons.

AND PLAID is AWESOME!

well, there's nice (?) plaid - but I'm too old for it, now.... and then there always was/is, awfull plaid, too. So if you ever show us a pic, please: a plain rather than a plaid tie....Otherwise I can't hug you with thanks for your stories...

Well it is Steve, and he's fond of his plaid. Tell you what, Kenny will find a way to steal it, club it with a shovel and bury it in the back garden never to be worn again.
