The Librarian and the Assassin, a Sapphic Romance at the End of the World - 42. Chapter 42 - Muddy

Tawni gets muddy.

Tawni and Bix were walking back from the Alphabet District. They were almost home, when a small sinkhole gave out under Tawni and sucked one of her legs down into a shallow mud puddle up to her knee. She was uninjured, but the thick mud had splashed up her thigh and even splattered on her shirt and forearms.

“What the heck?!” she yelled at the little opening in the earth.

Bix tried not to laugh, and she reached down to help Tawni out of the mud.

Tawni grabbed Bix’s hand, and she was yanked up, but her shoe had been left behind. “Oh come on!” Tawni groaned, and she knelt beside the hole that was slowly closing. She thrust her arm into it up to her elbow, and she grunted with effort as she tugged her shoe out of the gloppy suction. “Ugh, what a mess!” Almost her entire arm was now also coated in mud.

Bix was grinning wide and doing her best not to laugh. Tawni saw her face and snickered, causing Bix to burst out cackling.

Tawni loved the sound of Bix’s laugh. “Bix, I adore you!”

“I agree with Celest,” Bix managed through her laughter. “You’re a wonder, Tawni.”

Tawni blushed. “I love you, sugar.” She then looked down at herself. “I’m disgusting. Can we take a bath together?”

“I’d love to.”

“But I don’t want to go home all muddy,” Tawni added. “I wanna go rinse off in the shallows. Would you mind going the rest of the way home and getting the fires started and turning on the water, so when I get there, the tub will already be partially filled?”

Bix leaned forward and kissed Tawni. “You know, you’ve even got mud on your neck.”

The pair of them laughed.

Tawni kissed Bix again. “I’ll be right home, sugar.”

“I love you, Tawni.”

The young women separated, and Tawni arrived at the shallows a few minutes later. She walked out into the surf, bent down, and scrubbed off her leg. She also cleaned out her muddy shoe and her shirt. Tawni realized that she still had mud on her neck, and fully dressed, she dunked her head underwater. She was clean again as she headed back onto dry land. Tawni pulled on her soggy shoe and began to make her way toward her home.

Even though Tawni had money now, she was used to not paying attention to the few establishments in her neighborhood that required cash, and she was oblivious to someone who was watching her, until she was walking right by the individual.

“We need to stop meeting like this.”

Tawni spun around at the sound of a voice she recognized.

The thin transgender woman was seated at a table under a large shade umbrella. She was in front of a tavern with a tall glass of something vibrantly magenta in her elegant hand.

“It’s you!” Tawni gasped.

“Hi, Tawni,” the woman cooed.

“Yo-you remembered m-my name?”

“Of course I did,” she replied with a wink.

“You’re so pretty!” Tawni blurted out, and she brought her hands to her mouth in embarrassment.

The woman laughed. “Thanks, cutie, and you’re a little bit gorgeous yourself. Mmm, you know, I think you look good enough to eat.” Her eyes moved down Tawni and over her soaked and clingy clothes.

Tawni glanced down at herself and realized her nipples were very hard, and they were prominently visible despite her bra and shirt. She covered her chest with her arms.

The beautiful stranger then declared in an alluring moan, “Tawni… you… are… sexy!

Tawni’s mind was spinning with things she had just learned from Pan Cakes and Celestial Openings. She was also thinking about Bix’s feelings, but she could not deny her overwhelming desires.

“Wha-what’s your name?” Tawni finally managed to get out.

The woman grinned. “I’m Xylda.”
