In Remembrance - 3. The Pain
He sat at the corner of the room,
Petrified and tired,
Of running around,
In fear and dejection.
Trail of tears on the cheek,
Dried along with precise measure,
Of pain and agony, felt
In lonesome and in dark melancholy.
A ray of light from the yellow street lamp,
Creeped in through the window sil,
Onto the lonely portrait of a smiling boy,
On the wall above the bed.
He looked up at the portrait questioning,
Why he is left alone to endure,
The infliction in this world,
That was meant to love and care all.
