Into the Fire

Genres: Historical

Delbert Peterson was really excited to go to the 1936 Minnesota State Fair for the whole time, the first week without his parents. It would be his last time showing as a 4-H member staying in the dorms and this would give him a chance to explore. He was especially interested by the carnies who operated the rides. They intrigued him so.

Del meets a carny, a boy his age, who excites him like no girl ever had.  This is the story of a farm boy learning that love and attraction are powerful things.  In the end, he discovers that love is ageless.

When i was promoted to Promising Author Cole said to me, " Not everyone can tell our story.  Lots of people are depending on us to express the experience we are all living.  Your truth isn’t a singular experience.  It’s part of what many of us feel."

He tells us one such truth, one such story here. Beautiful, honest, it touched me .. and my soul begged for the happily ever after i wanted, but instead Cole gives us reality.

I am glad today, often things can be different for us.

Do not miss this well crafted, wonderful piece.
