In searching for a fantasy story that had some characters I could relate to, I was pleased to find this one! Good usage of world building. I enjoyed that there were a good number of characters; [they] set up your scenes nicely and gave me some anchor points to place the main character around. I'm not sure if this story was meant to be a one off, but it felt written that way.

I felt that the romance was rushed a bit; after all, there is fun in the chase eh? Nonetheless, I was happy that it didn't crash into a love-fest and maintained some subtlety. It might be a matter of personal choice but I would have liked to see a longer build up, perhaps some  struggles they both had to face to build the attraction. You may have already been planning to do this in the future, if so, I like that direction!

It was a fun story that had all the great elements of magic, political figures, and an implied world beyond. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next chapter and your next story!
