Heinous, haunting, heroic and hopeful. Each chapter ran the gauntlet of emotions; from joy to sadness to anger, each but particularly the latter two, at their most extreme, a witness to the very worst and the very best of humanity.

A huge cast of characters populate the landscape of this sprawling story. As several of my fellow readers have commented, the story is not for the faint-hearted, the evil and toxicity of child sex-trafficking brutally portrayed by a truly gifted author in @empath.

I have had the privilege of reading many fine works on GA, and I can attest there have been none finer than this masterpiece.

Response from the author:

Thank you for your comments and encouragement along the way, start to finish.  You have played a role in the creating, but also in making the author feel wanted.  ❤️

Everyone has heard of the Neverending Story. There are real life stories which unfortunately seem never ending, but parts of which can and need to be told skillfully, honestly, compassionately and dramatically. Kept Boy to Made Man is one of these.

Kept Boy to Made Man explores the immediate and long term effects of child abuse in the context of a dramatic narrative involving intrigue, rescues, support and healing. As the story unfolds, the many characters personalities also develop depth, often in surprising ways.

Other readers have hinted on the plot and there is no need for me to add any more to that. All I will say is you will find this must read story emotionally engaging, compelling and thought provoking. My only regret with Kept Boy to Made Man is that I cannot give it more than five stars.

Response from the author:

Thanks for taking the time to write this, my friend!  Thank you also for the passionate point of view you have shared through messages and comments along the way!  You have always seen past the plot to the point of this story.

For me, this is a must-read story, one of the finest to grace these pages and it has it all. It isn't for the faint hearted, it can be grippingly raw, a brutally honest depiction of child sex trafficking. Yet among the horror are those who stand out, head and shoulders above their neighbors as they find within themselves, the courage to do what's right.

We are so lucky that Gay Authors provides such a platform where must-read stories such as this are available for our reading pleasure. What more needs to be said....

Response from the author:

Thank you @drsawzall.  Your engagement has been a motivation over the many, many hours thinking, drafting, and editing.

A single phone call from Prosecutor, makes Roger Cicero, a famous mafia defender, involve in a case of murder. Case of murder becomes a case of self-defense... evolving into case of domestic violence and child abuse! After that, nothing was ever the same for Roger and his friends. A global network of pedophilia and boys trafficking is reveled and the war against the evil starts.

@empath is building his own world of superheroes. Unlike the Marvel universe, Lincoln universe superheroes are real people, good people ready to fight the evil. They are military man, police, prosecutors, lawyers, judges, FBA, local militia, border control, even mafia members...all united to save enslaved and tortured boys. And boys of course - the unwanted children as author call them in the story, survivors and little heroes that have captured readers' heart forever!

Emotional scenes are followed by the scenes of action...and all over again. Suspense and tension in one moment are replaced with tears of joy and hope in another.  Unique characters, each with his own life story, each the potential protagonist of a new @empath's tale!

This epic story is a magnificent gift to the GA site.  It is a must read, although, to all emotional readers, I have to put a 'clinex' warning!

Response from the author:

I appreciate your excitement, comments, and now your review @Cane23!  You’ve been along for the entire journey!

This is one of the finest stories to grace these pages!  It is not for the faint of heart! It will bring tears, smiles, anger, and awareness to every reader.  It deals with a very sensitive subject (child trafficking and abuse), but also hope,  There is no shortage of compelling characters, heroic actions, and powerful emotions.

If you have ever read the Jack Ryan stories written by Tom Clancy, you will find a similar format in the writing:  seemingly disparate threads suddenly coalesce into a dramatic and powerful whole that is greater than the sum of the individual parts.

Response from the author:

Thank you for being such an active part of this journey and for the thoughtful review!

For someone with both professional and personal experience in the vile and traumatic world of abuse and exploitation of children, Kept Boy to Made Man is a phenomenal representation of what victims and survivors of such atrocities endure. A challenging must read for those interested in examples of experiences of those who have been traumatized.

Readers can follow along the often treacherous and trying paths taken by the victims, survivors and those courageous and compassionate enough to step forward and help. One man's bravery in taking the first step to defend a teenager in an untenable life crisis leads to an unimaginable future not only for the teen and his attorney but many who will ultimately become an army of caring, loyal family of choice.

Response from the author:

It is a difficult and often ignored topic, but it is one we should all be aware of and fight against.  There have always been exploited and unwanted kids, but there are also many people willing to love and fight for them.  Thanks you for reading and reviewing @Vcs!  Welcome to the Liberty family!

A highly intricate, tightly scripted story that draws the reader into worlds that exist beyond most people’s imagination.  We see the utter depravity of what humans are capable of doing and also the power of human love.

This is an exceptional piece of writing, one of the best I have read since joining GA. It is not for the faint-hearted but it is an inspiring read.  Apart from praising the author it makes one think long and hard about the cost to those involved in trying to protect the innocent and prosecute the guilty.

Response from the author:

Thank you for reading and responding @Gary L!  This story, like all fiction, was written to entertain, but it was always my hope that it would also make people think and feel.  It certainly did that for me as I tried to figure out how to write a full-length story about some very challenging things.
