Pinecone Poem - 1. Chapter 1
Blink. A minute.
Yawn. It’s a year gone.
What have I done with the last few months
The last few years.
It’s going too fast, so much has happened
And yet nothing at all.
This shouldn’t never happen to someone like me, I will survive the centuries past
Time makes me so angry.
It’s a race I will never win
Time reminds me of all the accomplishments I never reached, or should have reached
It’s a climbing rope that I can’t manage to get hold of.
The standards are painful, the meaning lost and the ending is always a secret
I try to relive the moments of the past to feel as good as I used to back then
Begging for those endorphins, to be free, to be crazy, to scream out, to live
You can’t relive moments, you frame them, nod to them as you pass them by
You can’t relive the emotions, the feelings, it’s never the same, things have changed
And change is humanity.
Now I appreciate that I even had the time at all
Time is not the enemy
It is okay to not understand every moment.
It is okay to not remember every face that passes you by.
I look forward to all that time can give me.
It will be a one more breath until the lights go out.
And I am okay with that.
