Eric and Paul have been a couple for a little over seven years, but things have started to become strange after Paul got a promotion at work and the sales area he now covers is more than double in size.  It also means he'll be away from home frequently and he's often so tired when he returns to the home they bought together to do anything. Then, on Halloween night, it becomes clear that Paul has come down with a case of seven-year-itch.

Things becomes even stranger, because Eric and Paul used to pass out the treats to the kids together, but this year Eric has to do it alone.  Will they survive as a couple or will Eric be devastated and left alone?  Eric busies himself taking care of the trick-or-treaters, and along the way he encountered a surprise.  What is it and is it a good or a bad surprise.  I strongly suggest that you read this very realistic and captivating short story to find out.
